League Wars: Birthday Bash -- The Road So Far

With two years of history now under the belt and a new installment of league war action on the horizon, it might be a good time to look back at the history of the event.

The Inaugural League War:

Held in 2019, The Inaugural League Wars event took place between October and November. Some recognizable leagues participating in this event were The Avengers, The Colony 51, Legacy of Spawn, Seraphim Angels, NMDS, Tygger's Freak Show, Pain Inc., and the Purple Onion. 24 different leagues participated in four divisions.

In a post-war interview, Super Rakley, with the Avengers League, made the following statement:

"Congratulations to all division winners for League Wars one. We all came into this not knowing what to expect and that a lot of fights could have a random roll of the dice factor. Everyone did a great job preparing and working together to make it a great event for everyone. Special shout-out to our opponents in division 1 and 2, Colony 51, and AoA. Thanks for making it a challenge and keeping it fun. Lots of shenanigans were had, and lots of laughs were enjoyed. Colony beefed-up, and came in with a game plan, and a good fight is always appreciated. You guys made it worth it. We look forward to spanking that ass in the next war again, but hope that you'll bring it again and it won't be easy."

And reporting the rounds, the SuperActionSports Team was there to cover a majority of the action happening on the field. SuperActionSports Report

League War 2:

In March 2020, the second HR league war event took place. Avengers 1 had a total of 681 wins and took gold for Division One, followed by Suicide Squad 1 for silver and Seraphim Angels for bronze. Avengers 2 took the gold in Division 2, Wild51cards in Division 3, Suicide Squad 2 in Division 4, Total51Vengeance in Division 5, and Division 6 had the Avengers 6. 32 individual leagues participated in the merriment.

Participant interviews were offered for combatants for each battle round. Aflima was recorded having this to say.

"Zero. There were zero highlights. Simply out-statted, if that's a word. Moving right along." - Aflima

Bringing the viewer along with the action, Todd Goode reported on the events with style. Here is his post on League Wars 2:

League Wars 2 Over and the Big Winners Are?

League War 3:

June 2020 saw League Wars Three emerge to bring some summer festivities to the world. 40 leagues registered and battled it out in seven divisions. Gold winners were the Avengers 1(D1), Seraphim Angels(D2), Avengers 3(D3), Suicide Squad(D4), DarkGuins(D5), The Choosen(D6), and The Brotherhood(D7).

After League Wars 3, there was an opportunity to gain an extra Electrified Dash Power Card by posting your avatar to your Facebook account and completing the sentence "I love to play Heroes Rising because..." and including your player ID# on the post.

Also, the month of June also hosted the epic Raid vs The Jinn, an ongoing threat to BADGE and the world based on the lore written by Dan Payton.

League War 4:Stellar Battle

August 2020 saw the BADGE Space Arena as the new host for the league war competitions. 44 leagues in 8 Divisions. Division One saw the WMD-Black Order enter the battle. The GW, or Ghost Warriors, made a strong showing in several divisions. These City Streets doesn't have a posted article listing specific winners for each division, but if you are interested in following up on the specific events, there are more posts by Drift Davis and the SAS team to help relive some of the action.

League War 5: Haunted Heroes

The Spirit of Halloween stirred the October cauldron for the next incarnation of league wars. 8 divisions once again stirred up lots of action, and writer Dan Payton created a piece of consecutive storytelling into the mix, attempting to weave the in-game action into the building lore for Heroes Rising.

Todd Goode brought a fun, holiday themed element to his report on the rounds to bring the action to... unlife??? Scary Harry and Pookie

Frosty League War (6):

January/February 2021 brought us the chilliest league war so far. WMD-Black Order took the gold for the third time in Division One. The merged Avengers/51 took gold in the six other divisions.

A special guest commentator was brought to life by the magic of Todd Goode's writing once more to enhance the flavor of the season. Glacier and Oswald Thaddeus Frosterton

League War Egg-celsior (7)

March 2021 laid the golden eggs for the most recent league war adventures. Seeing as it was only 2 months ago, I'm not going to spell it out for you, but if you are interested, check out the myriad of posts available in These City Streets (just hit the NEWS button on the right hand side of the main page of Heroes Rising to get there).

Along with the fighting, there are also several players who take the time to chime in with their POV stories about League Wars. One of such who has posted several over the last few league wars is Crossroads. Here is her latest entry in her diary of League War observations.

Crossroads Diary: Pain

Best of luck to everyone who participates and and to the legendary story of League Wars on Heroes Rising.
