There is a new post in the Fiction Forum inviting all players to join into a different kind of superhero story.
Follow this link to read the introductory setup for the story here: It's not just dogs playing poker.
In this new storyline, heroes have been invited to join
Highlander at the poker table for a night of playing cards. All players have
been invited to participate and get dealt in for a hand. If writing about
supervillains and combat isn’t your forte, perhaps this casual story about how
your hero plays cards is the right topic for you.
Collaborative fiction is a fun way to explore your
character, interact with other characters, and earn some Power Cards that can
be redeemed for Morphon Points. Each substantial post of at least a paragraph is
eligible for 2 Reality Writer Power Cards worth 10 Morphons each.
Free and budget players, this is an excellent opportunity to
gain some extra Morphons to buy Power Cards, spin on Nova’s Mystery Shuffle,
upgrade cards, or purchase better Gear in the Armory. One worthy post a day for
a month should earn you 600MP.
And that isn’t counting the additional opportunity for more
Morphons at the end of the month when one of the collaborative fiction stories
is awarded top honors and can receive additional rewards.
Joining with other players might seem like a daunting task,
but it really isn’t. The goal isn’t to create perfect manuscripts. Think of it
as RPG gaming, without the dice. Read what the previous author has posted and
then add how your character responds. Then create an opportunity for the next
author to add to the story. And so on, and so on, and so on.
As always, be respective of the other participants. Snappy
banter is fun but should not be derogatory of the other writer’s efforts.
Help out another player, and in the end, yourself, by pulling
up a seat at his poker table and finding out together where the story will take
all of you.
If you would like to, you can always begin a collaborative
thread of your own or write a solo story for other Heroes Rising fans to digest.
Keep an eye open for other creative opportunities on the Fiction Forum posted by the Heroes Rising staff. Typically every other month, Dan Peyton will post a Fiction Contest for players to try their hand at.
I hope to see you in the Fiction Forum soon. Use this link (Fiction Forum) to get there, as the one on These City Streets can be a bit dicey, and we are playing poker.
