With a new year comes great opportunity!
Whether you are a new to Heroes Rising, someone who joined
in the last year or so since it went live, or one who is a long-standing player
from previous game world, let me welcome you to the next exciting chapter. Or
with comics, is it issue? Episode? Whatever. You think you know what I mean.
I want to offer you an idea to think about as we begin this
new cycle.
Your game experience here is what you make of it. You can
immerse yourself as lightly or deeply in your character as you wish. There will
be other players here with the same mindset as you.
Of course, being a super-powered themed game, collecting
powers and gear are a staple as you advance your character.
And how do you advance your character?
By fighting, of course.
Using your Laser Eyes, Shadow Clones, and Energy Bubbles (and
other Power Cards you can collect) to Battle other players. Complete Missions
to discover the story behind Legion’s Invasion of our fair planet, which will present
opportunities to face down Supervillains while collecting Bux, Gear, and more
Power Cards. Taking part in Events, where your character can battle others in
different divisions with often special circumstances, such as Duels, Brawls,
and Chronos. Events are a good way to gain experience and earn special Power
Cards.
Eventually, you might hazard a trip to a Fight Club, where
groups of up to 20 heroes go at it in a ring to see who comes out top dog. Even
the lowliest fighters can benefit by showing up and letting themselves get
pummeled. How you might ask? Well, each time you enter a new fight club, you
earn a couple of Morphons.
What makes Morphons so desirable? Morphons are one of the
three in-game currencies: Bux, Crystals, and Morphons. All are useful, but here
is the easy breakdown. Bux are earned in game from having a career or through
fighting Battles with other heroes. Crystals are the second currency, a
self-generating currency that replenishes daily but can also be earned while
fighting in Fight Clubs. The third and most desirable, and potentially
difficult to obtain, currency choice to accumulate are Morphons.
Morphons are used to purchase elite Gear and Power Cards.
They can also be earned through leveling your character, completing all daily
quests, achieving milestones, participating in special contests, or purchased
in the Morphon tab.
No matter how you obtain Morphons, make sure you spend them wisely.
To do this, my best recommendation is to visit the Heroes Rising Players Page
and meet other players who are always willing to share advice. The Heroes
Rising Players Page is also a useful place to gain friends for your character,
allowing your character to build their team size and use more Power Cards while
fighting.
What I’ve mentioned so far is only the beginning. You will
find leagues to join (or create your own) for the building of headquarters that
give bonuses to game play. Leagues also have the option to participate in
League Wars. These team activities give players a chance to develop strong
groups of players to go head-to-head with other leagues for bigger prizes and
more renown.
Your character is your own and nobody else can tell their
story better than you. While Dan Peyton, the lead storyteller for Heroes
Rising, has world-built a fantastic setting (stories may be found on the Lore tab for you to read and enjoy), you can earn Morphon rewards by
adding your character’s actions as they battle villains, save lives, or whatever
it is that they do. This can be done on the Fiction Forum by either telling
their story as a solo act or by working with others to create a collaborative team-up
tale.
Occasionally, SUPERVILLIANS enter the world that are so powerful
they must be fought by all heroes in order to save the planet from their evil
intent. These RAID events are an excellent opportunity to earn more rewards
after the target is defeated.
Last year there were surprise events which brought a great
deal of fun to the game, with rewards of their own. Time will only tell what
new events will be added this year.
So, whether you are a casual player who shows up to fight
only in League Wars to stand by your teammates while fighting for gold, a daily
player who pushes for every opportunity to improve their character, a creative
person who takes part in storytelling about a character built from your own
imagination, or any combination of these, there is a place for you here in
Heroes Rising.
