Or was it a box? He couldn't tell.
Suddenly, in the distance, the soft purr of a cat broke the silence. Then a meow.
"I'm back," said the cat.
"What? Who..." Quark asked, startled.
"You've been away for too long," the cat-voice continued. "It's time to wake up..."
"How? I'm stuck in here..." Quark sighed.
"Just do your weird thing, whatever that is... Don't you have any whiskey stashed somewhere?"
"In here???" Quark asked.
"This is the realm of infinite improbabilities..." the cat-voice said, and suddenly a wide cheeky grin materialised out of nowhere, followed by three eyes. "An in an infinite universe, even the most improbable thing can and will occur..."
Then thousands of images flashed by: heroes with tales of their encounters and shared experiences. "These heroes and their stories... what happens next?" Quark wanted to know.
"Well, it's time to find out, isn't it?" The cat-grin with three eyes asked, and suddenly the box collapsed and out came good old Strange Quark.
"Quack!!!"
