LWs Round 1 Overview

by Enigma (Dennis West, PID#12189)

Hi, sports fans its that time again League wars 6.

Brought to you by Miracle Auto Painting (remember, if it's a good job, it's a miracle!) and Nacho Mamas Fine Dining establishments.

I'm Chris Burly, and joining me in the broadcast booth is the legendarily Dak Trickle...

Before we run down the scores, why don’t you give us some color commentary on how everything leads up to the big show, Dak.
Thank you, Chris. I think the lead up of league wars 6 can be best described with these words.

Chaos and pandemonium.

Teams were trading players as fast as possible to make the league's deadline.
It has truly made for some strange team combinations. Like the Area 51 /Avengers team-up. The last time I checked even the Avenger was not even an Avenger. Although Avenger the Avenger does have a ring to it.

Wow, Dak! Surely you cant agree with this Avenger / Area 51 team up?

I do not, Chris! And don't ever call me Shirley! (At least not while we are on the air.) ....MOVING ON. In another strange team combination is the Pain / Area 51 team. Strange because it was members of that Area 51 team that barely edged out Pain for the league wars championship.

Thanks, Dak For that inside look into the prewar team work up. Now we go to the final seconds of round one.

In division one we have:

WMD Black Order blanking the 5ths Galactic 130 to zero.

Also the 5th Precinct: Omniversal Traffic Cops over the Angels of Sorcery 128-22.

Excuse me Chris did you say 130-0? That Team Captain must be madder than a mosquito in a mannequin factory!

Once again you missed the point. Dak. It is an honor just to play in division one. You or I can't even come close to doing that. So here is a Kudos to all those who have put the time and work in just to be in division one. Good Job!

Anyways onto division 2

It was Avengers/51 beating ~ƝMĐŞ~┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐ 127-20.
ƗŇŦØ ŦĦ€ ĐΔŘҜŇ€ŞŞꆜ over Seraphim Angels 92-44.

In division 3, we have Avengers/51 over the ᎮᏕყƈɧơ Ꮥϙųąɖ: Ìռנʊֆȶɨƈɛ ㄥέคɠยέ 142-0
Legacy of Spawn over Sob Hunter/killers 116-68.

Division 4 we have Red Guard over 5th P Space Force 94-67
Avengers/51 over ‡ Ɽ₲-₵ⱤɆ₳₮ɄⱤɆ₴ Ø₣ ₮ⱧɆ ₦ł₲Ⱨ₮ ‡ 111-7
Tygger's Freakshow losing to Suicide Squad 47- 125
5 th P Instigators over Aussie freaks 125-4

Division 5 has
Area 51/Avengers over NMDS 158-10
The Star Force over 5th P Code Blue 79-12
Pain over Cowboy est 86-19
A-Team over 5th P Wise Guys 123 -12

Division 6 has
Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ over 5th P Night Shift 68-44
Avengers/51 over 5th P Brutality 72 -46
NobleGates over Mojos Dojo 51-9
5th P Buddy Cops over Freaks of Nature 56-52

Division 7... We're not sure what went on in Division 7.
But we did have that one interesting battle.
51 Wild Cards dropped a close one to Destruction 13-35.

It should be noted that if you join a team, you are expected to play. Teams don’t run themselves.

Let's take a closer look at the fight in Division 7 Wildcards vs Destruction...

I just happen to know the Wildcard Captain. He has Captained teams in both games and is very good at it... So the only way this happens is if players sign up but don’t show up.

C'mon, guys... I know it is division 7... But you wouldn't dare do this in the upper divisions.

I don’t even want to talk about that 0-0 score.
Other than it was a defensive struggle.

LWs Fiction : LW6 - Frosty Feud for Fame and Fortune, Round 1

By Crossroads

"Jeez..." Crossroads thought as she hurried into the Battle Arena aboard the League Wars Space Arena, currently in geosynchronous orbit somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean.

"They're gonna be so pissed at me for being late! This is the last time I will take somebody's shift at the bar. It isn't fair to keep someone doing you a favor waiting for relief! I got things to do and people to beat!"

Crossroads entered the arena and looked for her teammates. Once again, she was on a different team for this League War, and while she knew her teammates, she hadn't worked closely with them except in the several strategy and practice sessions they had in the last few months. Still not comfortable around such worldly heroes as Tri-Blade, Dr. Silver Strange Surfer, or Saintly Closer, she nonetheless didn't want to disappoint her new team, 5th Precinct: Omniversal Traffic Cops.
Spotting Saintly Closer's gigantic mechanical arm tossing PØKэUЯ}v{Ø}v{ across the arena like a Frisbee, Crossroads hurried over to him, apologizing profusely for being late.

"Don't even worry about it! We all understand what a civilian identity requires!. For now, just get your butt out there and kick some ] [ Angels Of Sorcery ] [ ass!" As he said this, Closer's mechanical fist grabbed the back of Crossroads collar and threw her like a rag doll right into a pack of ] [ Angels Of Sorcery ] [ members. knocking down several of them she ended up on top of Maleficent, who was now quite unconscious. Getting up in a little bit of pain, she hoped that counted as a victory.

Crossroads was able to defeat several members of ] [ Angels Of Sorcery ] [ and was feeling pretty good about herself and her skills. After putting Sarg down for the count for the second time, she turned around looking for her next victim, full of bloodlust and violence. Suddenly everything became a little hazy. She was brought abruptly back to reality by Dr. Silver Strange Surfer and a generous application of smelling salts, and she came to swinging.

"Easy there, Crossroads," the Doctor said, easily avoiding her wild swings. "Just take it easy, you're okay."

"What happened? How did I get here?" noticing she was in the %th Precinct ready room.

"Kid Chaos rang your bell pretty hard," he explained. You were fighting like a tornado out there, hitting everybody around you, when suddenly the area went a little blurry due to Kid's Chaos Effect. Out of that haze, you came flying and skidded to a stop against the arena wall, out cold like a mackerel."

"I don't even remember being hit....," Crossroads said. Standing ad swaying only slightly, Crossroads grabbed a large Hatoraid and chugged it down. "Well, I can promise you, THAT will not happen again!"

Watching Crossroads walk back out to the arena, determination written all over her, Dr. SSS smiled and refilled his first aid pack. He was probably going to be using it again in a few minutes.

"She's determined and she doesn't quit. But, she needs to think a little more before she goes out there willy-nilly. It's not all about who can pound whom harder into the ground. You not only have to plan your attacks, but you have to plan your defense, as well. She'll learn in time, but for now...." Dr. SSS pulls another ammonia ampule out of his first aid kit and motions to the orderlies just bringing in an unconscious Crossroads.

FROSTY LWS 6 – ROUND 1 FINAL RESULTS

 By: Todd Goode ID# 12205

“This is Glacier and Oswald Thaddeus Frosterton the 1st back with the results of round 1 of FROSTY LWS 6 and it certainly has been one hail of a round. Whattaya think Oswald?”

“You snow it my Glacial friend, anyway way you ice it, round 1 is gone with the icy cold wind.”

“Icy what you done there, you big snowball but let’s set the puns ice-ide and give the folks some frosty results.”

“Okay, but if you start singing ‘Do You Want to Build a Snowman’ one more time, I’m gonna give you a fat lip.”

“In division 1, WMD leaves The 5th Precinct: Galactic lost in cold space 130-0 and The 5th Precinct: Omniversal Traffic Cops were not having any of the Angels of Sorcery’s mind numbing cold spells. The 5th arrested that action 128-22.”

“So much for putting the puns ice-ide. Are we really going to do this Glacier?”

“Why yes, Oswald, we are gonna try. Now grab your snowballs and tell us about the final scores of division 2.”

“Okay Coldylocks, I will. Division 2 has Avengers 51 1st string defeats NMDS 127-20 and Into the Darkness freezes the Seraphim Angels at 92-44.”

“Not bad Oswald. In division 3, Avengers 51 2nd string has beaten the Psycho Squad 142-0 and Legacy of Spawn fights tooth and hail for a 116-68 victory.”

“In division 4, the Red Guard has left the 5th Precinct: Space Force frosted in Space 94-67. The penguin infused Avengers 51 3rd string has flipper whipped the RG- Creatures of the Night 111-7. The Suicide Squad beats Tygger’s Freak Show 125-47 leaving them all kinds of frostrated. The Aussie Freaks didn’t weather the blizzard to well against the 5th Precinct: Instigators and got a bad case of frostbite, they lost 125-4. Your turn Oswald.”

“Thanks Glacier. In division 5 NMDS 2 gets iced by Avengers 51 4thstring 158-10. The 5th Precinct: Code Blue blew it and fall to The Star Force 79-12. Pain Inc beat the Illiterate Cowboys like a frozen side of beef 86-19. The A-Team beats the ice chips out of the 5th Precinct: Wise Guys 123-12.”

“Hey! Coldylocks. How am I doing with these puns?”

“You’re doing great Oswald; you’re spitting puns like its snowbodies business.”

“Division 6 probably has the warmest spot this round as The Magnificent Seven fires the 5thPrecinct: Night Shift 68-44. Avengers 51 5th string defeats 5th Precinct: Brutality by a bone chilling 72-46. NobleGates upset Mojo’s Dojo 51-9. I blame the abominable snowman. To round out division 6, the 5th Precinct: Buddy Cops fight the cold back and fight back The Freaks of Nature and re-take their lead, 56-52.  Man if looks could chill.”

“What can I say about division 7? What can I say? The only team that seemed show up for ROUND 1  battle was FireFly Fun Haus and they demolished the 5th Precinct: Kung Fu Hustle 166-1. The Wild[51]cards falls to Destruction 35-13. Suffering barely shows up but defeats the Loon Platoon 7-0 and in a disappointing no-show S7 and The Devious Dozen both got frozen goose eggs and not the golden kind. Hopefully, round 2 will be better. I’m guessing the new 1/3 rule may have had a big part in this action.”

“Overall, it was a pretty good first round and some of the puns were even good. Let’s not do puns anymore Oswald. I’m going to have to ice my brain from the pun pain.”

“That wraps up the final results of round 1 of FROSTY LWS 6. It’s time for the leagues to rest up and recuperate from all the cold stone slams and have a hot meal and some relax time in the hot tubs and prepare for round 2. This has been Glacier and Oswald Thaddeus Frosterton the 1st reporting. Good night everyone.”

(As Glacier and Oswald walk away, Glacier starts singing, ‘Do You Want to Build a Snowman’ and we hear a thud a crash and a bit of a scream then Oswald mumble, “You’re still an ice hole, I warned ya!” and then we hear a weak snort by Glacier who is lying prostrate, “Okaaay. By.”)

Results: Frosty League War - Round One

Chaz Hamilton here, bringing you the results from the first round of the Frosty League War. It's nice to be reporting on the activity of our super-powered friends without some type of super-villain or catastrophe on the horizon.

Let's start with the top ranked battle in Division One.

As you can see, ][☣][ WMD - Black Order has continued with its unopposed efforts during League Wars. 5th Precinct Galactic couldn't get a single match, following in the footsteps of the efforts of the match-ups during Haunted Heroes. Their companion team, 5th Precinct: Omniversal Traffic Cops managed to capture a decisive win against the Angels of Sorcery.

In Division 2, we see that the merging of chocolate and peanut butter, or in this case, Arctic ice, is still a winning combination. The new ♦ Avengers 5¹ ♦ has proven to be a union that worked very well, defeating the ~ƝMĐŞ~┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐ league.
⚫ƗŇŦØ ŦĦ€ ĐΔŘҜŇ€ŞŞ⚫ꆜ had a very good day as well, bringing the † SERAPHIM ANGELS † down to earth.

In Division 3, ♦ Avengers 5¹ ♦ has achieved a flawless victory, defeating the ᎮᏕყƈɧơ Ꮥϙųąɖ: Ìռנʊֆȶɨƈɛ ㄥέคɠยέ.

Legacy of Spawn, having dropped down a few divisions, is off to a flying leap, making prey out of the ♆SOB♆ HUNTER /KILLER

Division Four is the first of the eight league battles, and it finds Red Guard overpowering the 5th Precinct: Space Force. During Haunted Heroes, the 5th's Space Force was in Division 8. Perhaps they rose too high a bit too fast. The next rounds will tell that story.
‡ ☠Ɽ₲-₵ⱤɆ₳₮ɄⱤɆ₴ Ø₣ ₮ⱧɆ ₦ł₲Ⱨ₮☠ ‡ was shown no mercy from the ♦ Avengers 5¹ ♦

‡ ☠SUเCเD€ SQU₳Đ☠ ‡ rode Tygger's Freak Show to a victory in this round.

5th Precinct: Instigators sent the Aussie Freaks packing back to the land down under.

Division Five may have you seeing double.
♦ Avengers 5¹ ♦ is fighting another NMDS league, ~ƝMĐŞ~┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐2, in this division with similar results.
The Star Force called the code on 5th Precinct: Code Blue.
~\\\\ PAIN inc. ////~ whipped the I̳l̳l̳i̳t̳e̳r̳a̳t̳e̳ Cₒwbₒy Est.

If you are a fan of 80's TV, the final matchup in Division 5 is right up your alley. The ‡ ₳ ƮΣ₳}v{ ‡ showed no pity to the fools on the 5th Precinct Wise Guys.

This division made me wonder what happened to some of the past leagues not seen in this competition: Several Ghost Warrior leagues, The 1ST SPACEMARINE BATTALION, ~666~ HOR$EMEN OF THE APOCOLYP$E, and a few others. Did the recent rule changes force some of them to find new homes or did they bow out because they were unable to go forward as a whole, or did they just bow out?

Division 6 had some of the closest matches of the day.
This division also had the most 5th Precinct leagues, three of ten under the 5th's umbrella, present.          Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ put the 5th Precinct: Night Shift to bed while the next of the six different ♦ Avengers 5¹ ♦ leagues, present in all divisions except for Division 1, pacified the 5th Precinct: Brutality.                                                                                                                                                  NobleGates took the mats out of  ☠ ]V[OJ๏'S Đ๏JO ☠ ‡. The closest match of the day went to 5th Precinct Buddy Cops as they went toe-to-talon with the Freaks of Nature.
The final division of the day, Division 7, did have its own unique twist to this battle round.
♢♧ШilD[5¹]CaЯDs♡♤ folded, facing ɗꬲȿʈꝶưƈʈḭꬽɳ ~//// SUFFERING\\\\~ took an undefeated win from the loon platoon.

The highest scoring round went to ‡ ☠ FireFly Fun Haus ☠ ‡ as they went 166 to 1 against the 5th Precinct: Kung Fu Hustle.

The most surprising event of the day is the S7 vs Ͳhe Đevious Đozen. Maybe they got the date wrong? Neither of these teams fought a single battle. That is rather disappointing when you have leagues out there that still wanted to be a part of the challenge.

What will Round 2 bring? Tune in on Monday to watch and see. This has been Chaz Hamilton, bringing you the story from the Space Arena, where so far, there have been no sightings of holiday spirits. With Valentines Day not too far off, and Cupid having left the planet with most of his Mythic family, who knows what that next holiday might involve.

45 mins left in Round 1 of LW6!

By The Saintly Closer of the 5th Precinct

ID# 10910

There are a lot of lopsided matches out there, but it's especially true in the top 3 Divisions. We see what appears to be clear wins there from a lot of familiar leagues including 5th Precinct, WMD, Avengers, Legacy of Spawn, and the fresh faced collaboration, Into The Darkness!

Divisions 4 and 5 do see some less lopsided matches. Against Red Guard, 5th Precinct has put up 67 wins so far, with Red Guard in a clear lead at 94. While Tygger's Freak Show stacked up 47 wins against Suicide Squads at 125! 5th Precinct Instigators and another Avenger league, enjoy very heavy leads against their opponents in Division 4. Division 5 sees big leads for Avengers, Star Force, Pain, and The A Team!

If you're looking for excitement, the Division 6 matchup between 5th Precinct's Buddy Cops, and the Freaks of Nature is looking like a down to the wire, nail biter! At the moment the legendary Desiree and Warlion, are at the forefront jockeying for position! That's a fun division to watch with other close matches between The Magnificent 7, and 5th Precinct Night Shift, 5th Precinct Brutality against another Avenger group, With Noblegates in a clear lead over Mojo Dojo. You probably remember the Dojo from last LW's famed double overtime!

In other news I see the first 0 score match that I can recall! In Division 7, between S7 and The Devious Dozen. The casual observer has to wonder if that’s a double duel win, or a dual loss!

There are some other big leads in a our lowest Division from Firefly Fun Haus, Suffering, and Destruction! Will any of those situations change?

Stay Tuned!

How I Did It : An Interview on the Setting of A New Record

by Krystal Fae
with Pain-guin (#21541), special thanks to Micheal Brody for aid in translation...

Some Heroes are perplexed tonight... Many are astonished, others are in denial that such was possible legally... the legality has been verified, so if you are among the last, stifle it.

I have been able to speak with the hero who managed this feat, and the following comprises that encounter...

Pain-guin: Lo dere hotz lady , me hearz dat yuz wantz to talkz to me abutz da recurd me jut setz. Ober 1k winz in one dayz su muk it broke da conter. Nearly 2 k in tu dayz. Dis em one tirud Painguin, butz nut too tirudz if u nose whatz I mean. So axe whut youz gunna axe.

(Hello there, hot lady, I heard that you wanted to talk with me about the record I just set. Over 1000 wins in one day... so much, it broke the counter... Nearly 2000 in 2 days. This is one tired Pain-guin, but not too tired, if you know what I mean... (waggles brow ridges) So ask what you're gonna ask.) (Krystal Fae takes a step back)

Krystal Fae: So... first let me thank you for the interview. Can you tell us about your powers and the metal spikes, They don’t seem very Penguin-like? Pain-guin: (takes a step forward)

Me em Painguin so me nu lik udder Penguinz. Der spikes frum wurkin at da Big Pen Zen’s Bar. Pen Zen, Dat em funE. When da homanz wantz the beers me waddlez ober and bring em da beer. Waddle bak getz em a nuder. Zen waz lozin da buks cuse it tuk so long. So he ramz da spikes intu me flippez den me me takz 6 beerz betwenz each pair of spikes. Hundredz in one trip. Zen da Pen em happyz makin da big bukz agun.

(I am a penguin, but not like other penguins. The spikes are from working at Big Peng Zen's Bar. (Zen's Antartic Bar & Grill) Pen Zen... that's funny... When the humans want beers, I waddle over and bring them a beer. Then I waddle back and get them another. Zen was losing money, cause it took so long. So he rammed the spikes onto my flippers, then I could take 6 beers using each pair of spikes. Hundreds in one trip. Zen the Pen was happy then, he was making the big bucks again.)

(Krystal Fae takes a step back)

Krystal Fae: So how did you get some many wins in one day... what was your strategy . (Pain-guin steps up and puts a flipper on Krystal's thigh)

Pain-guin: Hey werz u gunin. U knuw that u nu hab wurry abut da bitez tu da nutz? U em homun womun , right? Su me wurkz on da planz in secrut fur mounz. Mez gutz da candies, da haturdaide am da keyz fur da missionzall saved up. Den me unleashez da Pain. I taks da 2x exp, battlez n energez candies.

(Hey... where you going? You know that you don't have to worry about me biting your nuts... You are a female human, right? So... I worked out a plan in secret for months. I saved up candies, hatoraides, and keys from the missions... Then, I unleashed the Pain... (waggles eyebrow ridges again) I activated 2 times experience booster, along with the speed up gaining battles and energy candies.) Me startz on da heros dat em in da 150’s and wurkz me way up , nut figten da tuunz dat beatz me azz. Me beatz em su fast dat me never hab to stop da figten. Me lebbles up fightz twu ub da tuuns , duz me missionz, finishs up du tuunz fightz, lebbles up agun an itz a non stop blud badth. I drinkz me hateuraidez or uz da keyz tu kepz it guinz. Once me getz into da tuff WMD, Avengurs and HOS guyz me turnz back duwn and beatz the tunz I nu canz beat on da wayz up. Sum of dem still beatz my azz. Datz why 98% winz. Den whenz me getz tu da lebel 100’z me eatz da 3x exp candies. Den me em earning 5x times the exp. Su me duz what I waz dunin b4 but nuw me haz to hit sum real luw lebel tuunz su I getz all me figts in b4 I lebal. Su I hitz sum lebel 10’s, du my missionz and then hit da lebelz 100’z agun. ,Lebel un duz it agun. In 1 hourz me gets 30 lebelz. I waz bathed in bludd!!! Su wuch duinz tonight.

(I started on heroes in the 150s and worked my way up, not fighting the ones who beat me usually. I beat them so fast that I never had to stop fighting. I'd run my fights, run my missions, use hatoraides and more-fun bars to replenish, then keep going... it was a non-stop bloodbath. Once I got into the tough fights against WMD, Avengers, and HO$, I went back down and beat the toons that I couldn't beat on the way up. Some of those still beat my azz...(that's why win% was 98%) Then, when I got down to the 100 levels, I ate a 3 times experience candy. Now, I'm earning 5 times the experience (for wins). SoI did what I had been doing before, but I was hitting some real low-level toons so I was getting all the fights in before I'd level. So, I'd hit my fights, (some level 10) do my missions, then back to the level 100s again... I'd level, then go at it again... in 1 hour I got 30 levels. I was bathed in blood!!! (So...what you doing tonight?)

(Krystal Fae, removing the fin from her thigh, takes a step back)

Krystal Fae: Thanks for the interview. (I'm a married woman...) (disappears) Pain-guin (looks perplexed)

Pain-guin: Womenz... He shrugs and waddles off.

League War Fiction: How Starmaster came to join the Legacy of Spawn

By Starmaster

ID: 14716

It hadn’t been that long since he sat at a table inside one of the Fight Clubs trying to promote the Star Force. Building a league isn’t easy. Not when you are new to the competition and have big, grand ideas. But members did come. Not a steady stream of applications, but enough to see progress being made.

Then the rules announcement for Frosty League Wars came. Heroes were to be in sanctioned leagues with team builds meeting a specific set of standards. He could no longer lead the group of heroes in the league he created.

“That isn’t fair,” Wyldfyre said when the Star Force gathered to discuss their options with the new rules. “The only reason I’m here is to be on your team.”

“The team isn’t only one person, Fyre,” Starmaster said. He pointed around the table to the members there. Highlander, Catalyst, Chained Angel, and Silver Paladin, who were all there for the last Haunted Heroes League War sat beside CoronaVirus and Diamond Ruby Sapphire, two powerful new additions to the team, as well as one other newcomer Lykos. Prysmatica, Infinite Tempest, and Wyldfyre, who were all preparing the Star Force Junior League Headquarters, sat in as well.

“If you ain’t on the battlefield with me, I’m sitting it out.” Wyldfyre stood and walked out of the meeting room.

Chained Angel shrugged her shoulders, a mildly relieved look on her statuesque face. “There are those who like change and those who throw tantrums when it happens. We all know which category Wyldfyre is in.”

“So you all can still have your go at some of the prizes, I’m going to hand the reins over to one of you and see if there is someone else out there I can participate with.” Starmaster said, trying to sound confident about the new task at hand.

The choice was easy to make. His developing team could participate without him. Chained Angel lead in his absence before, while he was away on a B.A.D.G.E. mission, so he trusted she could do it again. He handed over his authority to her and went from being leader of his own team of heroes to a follower in another.

He sent inquiries out to other leagues on the messaging boards. A few personal messages out to other heroes he knew personally. As much as he wanted to join in and fight with others, there were some leagues he avoided asking.

The day before registration was complete, he received several messages. Most everyone he had contacted had already signed up. Some league leaders didn’t even bother to respond to his request, despite initial interest. The Legacy of Spawn, Krystal Fae’s league leader, Ace, replied that they were registered, but he would be welcome next league wars.

“I guess that is that. I get to enjoy this one from the stands.” Starmaster said to himself. He had been looking forward to using some new abilities he discovered during Frostuary for the upcoming games, as well as some new gear he had been field testing.

His communicator badge signaled. Krystal Fae’s image popped up on the screen. “I hear you’re looking for a spot in the League Wars.”

“I’d like to, but Ace messaged me that your league is already packed and ready to fly this go around.”

“Let me talk to her and the rest of my peeps,” Krystal said confidently. “I think we should be able to work something out. All the training we have been doing recently needs to be put to good use, right?”

“Sure,” Starmaster said to the tiny, holographic viewscreen. “I’d appreciate it.”

Not too long after, Starmaster received his invitation to the Legacy of Spawn. It wasn’t the league he created, but he decided to make lemonade out of the lemons. He hoped to learn what he could, planned to do his very best to help his new teammates, and have fun while doing it.

Thanks for having me, Legacy of Spawn...

LEAGUE WARS 6 – A FROSTY ROUND 1 UPDATE

 BY: Todd Goode id# 12205

“This is Glacier and Oswald Thaddeus Frosterton, reporting at the halfway-point of Round 1 of FROSTY LWS 6. The fighting has been furious and nonstop for hours now and its time for a little update of the divisions, but before we take a look at some of the notables, Oswald, would you like some hot tea to knock off the cold?”

“That’s a good one, Glacier. You’re a real funny ice hole; you know hot tea turns me into mush! But, if you have some liquid nitrogen, I’ll take a tall glass of that.”

“I’ll get right on that Oswald, right after we give this update. What has been your favorite fight of Division 1 so far my frozen friend?”

“Well Glacier, I have to say, in Division 1, I really enjoyed the match up of the Angels of Sorcery’s Lucky vs. the 5th’s Omniversal Traffic Cop's Tri-Blade. Lucky was able to finish Tri-Blade with his Physical strength and by turning the floor into lava beneath him. Tri-Blade is a little crispy but he’ll be back hopefully with some ice bolts to counter and freeze anymore lava. Currently, The Omniversal Traffic Cops lead this round easily 110-15. Which fight did you like in Division 2 there, Glacier?”

“Oswald, I’d have to say Malice of Into the Darkness vs. Seraphim of Seraphim Angels was a great fight. Seraphim fall to Malice’s giant fist power. Into the Darkness currently leads the first round 78 fight wins to 30.”

“I also enjoyed watching Division 3 competitor Starmaster from the Legacy of Spawn defeat Hunter Killer’s top guy, the Mighty Quim Reaper, with a massive cold front and some very icy breath. Reaper tries to make a hit at the end but goes down taking some heavy nightmare damage. Legacy of Spawn currently leads Round One with 94 wins to 63. It’s going to a nice solid round and can’t wait to see how it ends.”

“Me too, Glacier. And in Division 4, we have a very close round between the Red Guard’s Omen and Sammy of the 5th Precinct: Space Force. Omen narrowly defeats Sammy in a back and forth barrage of attacks. The Omen defeats Sammy with his icy bolts and only 16 hit points left to spare. I’d call that a great fight. Currently though, the 5th Precinct: Space Force leads this round 37 wins to 35. This round is too close to call. What’s happening in Division 5?”

“I couldn’t agree more Oswald. The best fight so far of Division 5 has been between the Star Force’s Lykos and 5th Precinct: Code Blue’s Uncle Sam. Unfortunately, Uncle Sam took a Tree Drill the hard way and won’t be sitting anytime soon. Currently, The Star Force has 61 wins to Code Blue’s 12.”

“Ouchie!! That has to smart a bit, Glacier, Uncle Sam had better put some ice on that. Division 6 has The Magnificent Seven making The 5th Precinct: Night Shift looking for some day work. MS7 currently leads the round 60-23 and this just in, it appears that the Freaks of Nature have made a big leap from behind to take the lead over the 5th Precinct: Buddy Cops, 44-42. That is outstanding. What is the news of Division 7 my good frosty buddy?”

“Oswald, the most notable match up in Division 7 is Firefly Fun Haus has totally routed The 5th Precinct: Kung Fu Hustle 151-1. Can Kung Fu Hustle work on their katas and have a come from behind victory? It will be difficult but anything is possible.”

“That concludes the midway point update of FROSTY LWS 6. Join us at the conclusion of Round 1 for the final scores. This has been Glacier and Oswald Thaddeus Frosterton reporting."

I can’t believe you called me an ice hole, Oswald….

League War 6 Round 1 5th Precinct Omniversal Traffic Cops

By The Saintly Closer

In Division 1 where you find the strongest and boldest heroes in the game. There are Dragons and Dungeons, Saints, Sargs, and weapons are massively destructing!

The Saintly Closer was feeling pretty cocky as the 5th Precinct unveiled its new voodoo troopers! They seemed to be keeping the sorcerer's magic at bay at first. Then, Final Judgement hacked the instruments that the closer used to extend and manipulate their anti-magic field, while Maleficent put a hex on The Saintly Closer's Mechanical arm! Instantly his servos tuned to the maximum resistance and he gave himself a wedgie at super speed! With an impressive amount of forward flips, he mowed through the voodoo squad like a bowling ball!
With this break in their defenses, Lucky swooped in and got some big wins for the Angels!

We're now approaching the halfway mark in Divisions 1 and 2 and after the initial assault, things are looking a bit lopsided.

With a few exceptions,
the lower divisions seem to be taking a more measured and tactical approach.

IT'S HAPPENING: LEAGUE WARS 6 – FROSTY

By Todd Goode

“This is Glacier and Oswald Thaddeus Frosterton I reporting and Baby its cold outside and it’s time for League Wars 6 and it is gonna be Frosty.”

“That’s right Glacier, Nova has called together the leagues to compete on the frozen tundra of Siberia and that is frosty enough to wear two sets of long handles under our super hero tights.”

“With the new 1/3 rule now in effect, most of the leagues have huddled together not just for warmth but for extra strength and some just thought it was just too cold and are waiting for the summer games to show their strength. It’s gonna be an interesting league war. New teams and alliances will be forged for combat in this frigid place. There are seven divisions for FROSTY LWS 6, let’s get a quick preview of the leagues competing in the divisions.”

“Hey Glacier, before we start I got to show you something.”

“I look up just in time to catch a barrage of icy snowballs to the head. Oswald chunks those snowballs pretty fast. I wasn’t ready and threatened to make Oswald a nice mug of hot chocolate, literally. “

“I was just showing you my Frostuary balls.”

“Well, now is not the time to play with your Frostuary balls Oswald, we got work to do.”

“You’re right Glacier. Let’s do that preview now and quit playing around. Start it off with division 1.”

“Well in division 1, it’s WMD and the Angels of Sorcery competing against The 5thOmniversal Traffic Cops and the 5th Galactic. One if these ice giants will come out on top and the rest will just melt away.”

“Division 2 is gonna have cold beat down. Avengers 51 and Into the Darkness would make a great fight. Who do you like for division 3 Oswald?”

“I think the second Avengers 51 team vs. Legacy of Spawn would be pretty cool division 3 bout there Glacier. One or the other will suffer from cryogenic frostbite.”

“Oh yeah, that would make a good fight there Oswald. I’d like to see the Creatures of the Night face the third string Avengers 51 team for division 4. Who has the bigger ice bolts?

“Don’t know Glacier, we’ll just have to wait and see but division 5 are going to have some frigid fights. The A-Team, Pain, the 5th Code Blue and Avengers 51 team fourth string team are just a few teams sure to put on a heck of fighting exhibition.”

“How many strings does Avengers 51 have anyway Glacier?”

“Enough strings to play a small banjo Oswald. Division 6 has a few teams I like. Mojo’s Dojo, the 5th Brutality and yep, Avengers 51 has a 5thstring all can put up great fights with a touch of ice attack. Who do you like for a division 7 fight Oswald?”

“For division 7, I like Suffering vs. the Loon Platoon or the Devious Dozen. I just like the names. Any of them can take the gold home.”

“Well Oswald, that’s a great run down of the divisions for FROSTY LWS 6. Any of these match-ups will make for a great first round of competition for the championship belts. We’ll have to wait and see how the snowflakes fall to know for sure. This has been Glacier and Oswald Thaddeus Frosterton I reporting, till round 1 for more updates. Good luck to all the leagues.”

1000 wins in one day!

By Gatekeeper Arosha

Pain-Guin putting  on a whopping  52 levels in one day pulled off a new record of 1000 wins in one day. Just to get 1k win in one day is pretty  impressive  but to do so with this type of record going  with it is let's just say #@%^ impressive. I've had my fair share of battles  with  him and he's no joke. Unfortunately  I don't have the option to level up like that with out hindering me more than it would help or I would  just to stay in range to continue with these great battles  we have had.

Pain-Guin major shout out, bad ass toon bro keep  it up. If anyone has any pictures  of anything  close to this one day record  in new or old game please add it to one of the pages or here. Guinness world records goes to Pain-Guin 1k win in one day 98% win rate hats off to ya that's insane.

Editor's note:

The developer has confirmed that this achievement is totally legit. Here's how it is possible:

- Consumables and league HQ to max out the number of battles possible.
- Maxed out hatoraides and other consumables to recharge as many battles as possible every day.
- Battle refills after level ups.

League Wars Registration Announcement

Director Nova sat in the shuttle with 10915 piloting. EB bounced all over the place in the back.

“Are we there yet? Are we there yet?”

With an eye twitching, Nova said, “we’ll get there when we get there. We only left ten minutes ago.”

EB landed in a chair and whined, “it feels like foooorever!”

Nova pinched the bridge of his nose, “why did I ever agree to let you be a BADGE adviser.”

EB hopped up and grabbed Nova around the neck with both arms. “Because, I’m powerful, smart, and you like me.”

“I tolerate you… at best.”

10915 announced, “approaching the League Wars Orbital Arena.”

“Good.” Nova leaned forward, EB still clung to his neck.

The shuttle made a pass around the massive orbital arena. Small robots buzzed around, putting in lightbulbs and welding parts together.

10915 said, “the arena is almost completely repaired from the events around Halloween.”

“Wooow!” EB commented.

Nova peeled the rabbit off his neck and said, “take is in to dock one.”

The shuttle looped around, landing in a small docking bay. Nova, EB, and 10915 stepped out and walked the long hallway to the large field. 10915 stood at a control station while Nova and EB stood on a platform. After a moment the platform left the side of the field and floated out. Screens flickered on with the BADGE symbol displayed on them. Across the world, monitors at ever League HQ were activated. Then the News Media was alerted and connected to their monitors. Once each screen had a location waiting, Nova began.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, Heroes and Heroines of the world. It has been a hard year. We have faced no greater trials than those during the Mythic Wars. Those days are behind us and we celebrated the new year with a new holiday...”

“FROSTUARY!” EB yelled out.

Nova resisted grinding his teeth in front of millions of viewers. “Yes, Frostuary. Now, it is time to once again test your mettle, prove your strength, and gain the glory of billions. It is time for the Official Winter League Wars and Powers Competition. It is my…

“That’s what you’re gonna call it?” EB interrupted.

Nova just about booted EB right off the platform. “That is the official, documented name.”

“Pshaw!” EB hopped up and grabbed Nova around the neck, leaned over his shoulder and announced, “It’s time for Frosty League Wars! Get yer butts up here to the Arena and register. We want to see ya’ll competing to prove who’s the best. And, this time, no ugly spirit will interrupt anything, I promise.”

Nova’s eye twitched again as he yanked EB off his neck. “As he said, Frost League Wars begins soon. Registration has begun. Good luck one and all.”

Adventures in Snow Town: Day 5

By Starmaster
ID: 14716

The Arctic Café instantly became the so-called “hot spot” of Snow Town. Once it was completed and Oswald helmed the day-to-day operations, there was rarely a moment when it didn’t have a line to the front counter or heroes lounging around before the fireplace.

“You’d think EB and Santa would bring in a few more residents to give Oswald there a hand,” Starmaster said to Krystal Frost as they watched Oswald roll around behind the counter, preparing treats and ringing up purchases. “Maybe send a few elves over to help. I feel bad for our new friend.”

“He’s doing fine,” Krystal said, sipping at a steaming cup of hot chocolate. “One thing you can say about Oswald is he was made for this job.”

Starmaster shrugged. “I’ll defer to your expertise with magical constructs. How have your collection efforts been going?”

“Fairly well. EB’s chocolate has been challenging to find.”

“Same for me.” Starmaster said as he relaxed into his chair. “I’ve been from New Amsterdam to Transyvania to outer space looking for it, but I always seem to get there after Hot Wings or Sarg cleared the location.”

Krystal tapped a finger to the side of her nose. “Some do seem to have a knack for it.”

“The effort by everyone has been pretty impressive. It shouldn’t be too much longer before we reach the quantity EB needs.” Starmaster lifted his mask up with his telekinetic power and took a few bites of his snow cone. His face winced with discomfort after a few seconds.

As did everyone else in the Artic Café. Heroes began to stagger, their foreheads wrinkled with pain. Most of them leaned against the nearest object as they pinched the bridge of their noses with their fingers and screwed their eyes tightly shut.

Krystal Frost leaned forward, a sudden ache building in her skull as well. She fought to stand up but struggled to get to her feet. “What’s going on?”

Oh, oh, oh, eee,” Starmaster said. “Give it a second. ohhhhh, I’m sorry… brain freeze.”

The pain in everyone’s mind faded away. Several patrons exchanged a dirty look with him as they drew closer, preparing snowballs with their gloved hands, despite his efforts to apologize.

“I think I’d better go hunt for some more chocolate.” Starmaster teleported out of the café, leaving Krystal alone at the table shaking her head.

Reviews and Comments on Frostuary

Hello. I'm Oswald Thaddeus Frosterton the First, and I would like to warmly invite you to join us here at Snow Town.

Established three days ago, Snow Town is the perfect vacation location for all heroes.

Are you looking to get away and enjoy some rest and relaxation? Well, if you are, don't come here.

Here is Snow Town, we celebrate the new holiday of Frostuary 24/7 under the midnight sky with extreme snowballing.

REMEMBER, your not having fun if your not being a BALLER!!!

Read some of our reviews from visitors my hometown:

Timebender #10897
So the Easter Bunny and Santa put their heads together and decided to do something to pass the time between Christmas and Easter.
Right now, they are hosting a Snowball Fight.
All you need to do is go to the "Frostuary" link, talk to the Easter Bunny, pick up the Snowball thrower, and equip it in the arm slot and you are in.
There are certain minor difficulties, there is no control over how many snowballs you throw, and it only counts snowballs thrown in fights from the battle link, not ones from Fight Club or mission bosses.
Still, as an event that is simply good clean fun, it is not bad. There is also a chance to win a prize if you are one of the top 20 snowball throwers, but that is pretty certain to wind up in the hands of those who play all day.

Gatekeeper Yoda #20314
The biggest snowball fight in history going down. Only requires level ten and equipped arm to start throwing snowballs in fight. Go pepper a friend or foe for some fun.as I thought this arm was going to be useless its actually kind of funny seeing a snowball launched in battles if you watch the fights. Yes it's not all that impressive or important but its different. So load up a suit with the snowball arm and go get some winter fun.
I've asked in the past for something small and entertaining, so thank you this hits the mark. It doesn't have to be epic to cause a stir the pot motion. This event is definitely stirring up the pot some lolz. Hope you are all enjoying this as well. I never thought I'd be just fighting randomly like this and actually having fun. Hope you continue finding little events like this to the game, and again thank you has been fun as heck!
Ps play around with the Arm in your builds it seems to have more to it than the eyes reveal. Or does it? Cheers and enjoy I'm out...
Little quotes from the event to consider also something else is coming...“what about the ice crystals?”
“OH, OH, OH, RIGHT! Those. Yeah, keep collecting them. They work up here like currency. And we can use them to build a Hot Chocolate Hut. Awesomesa...um...it’ll be great.”
“How many you need?” You pull up your calculator on your phone.
“Just 40,000.”
You pause from calculating, “that many!”
“Yup, now get to it. I can’t wait to get started on it.” We are half way to the 40,000 goal.

#20314 Gatekeeper Yoda
Will come back to this later today.
Alot of people are logging on seeing their wall peppered with attacks. Stunned by the sight takes a second and watched the replay. Lmfao snowballs!!! It's an all out snow ball frenzy. Here is the top Ten Toons tossing them like it's going out of style. As you can see levels dont make the difference the time and effort doing it does. You don't have to be a money spender of any sort to get great rewards just for your time playing around having fun. As with the arm they gave us, I'm hoping that this can be used again in the future at some point adding to it building it up like regular store gear but really just event gear that in a way stacks but doesn't. I'll explain: 25% chance to throw a snowball, if say they made a Christmas tree launcher 25% chance or a basket of eggs 25% chance, all used at once would give you higher opportunities to land one of them each time you hit making it easier to collect them over time of playing and participating. Ask any of us throwing snowballs you can boost your chances just by manipulating gear to a extent. Some players are struggling to get 1 in 5 or more battles. This would be a huge motivator for low level toons that play over time. As this is the first event I've seen that you can play all over the game not confined to one spot it makes it super interesting. Even if nothing changes I hope to see something else like this eventually come around again. To those who read this look for these events. If you have the time to enjoy it, I'd definitely put in the time it's any levels event to win a free really nice power card. To all you snowball launchers keep enjoying. I've had a blast just messing with people lmfao.

Adventures in Snow Town: Day Two

by Starmaster

ID: 14716

The Arctic Circle has never seen this much activity. Even though many heroes have taken their Snow Throwers across the globe to play with, the tiny ice crystals their new glove creates fly with animated sparkles back to the freshly constructed Snow Town. Streams of glittering flecks light up the sky, visual both by day and night, creating a beautiful rainbow-colored set of Northern Lights across the world.

Near to where the two wooden signs have been placed, a growing collection of magical, and unusual, currency swells as the ice crystals come home to rest.

“Yes, oh, YES!” EB dances, jumping from his right foot to his left repeatedly, occasionally stopping only to restart once he remembers which foot comes next in his gleeful exercise. “It won’t be long. Not long. The Hot Chocolate Hut will be done in no time at all.”

Outside of Snow Town, beneath the curve of a frozen drift of snow, a small periscope pops out from beneath the white blanket and turns to scan in all directions. It eventually settles on spying on EB and the growing accumulation of ice crystals.

If the heroes weren’t so delightfully engaged with fighting one another, any one of them might use their Nth Dimensional Senses to detect the metallic RoboRaptor that had tunneled in secret to its position.

^__^

“It simply isn’t proper,” Gentleman Rex complained from his cell in Purgatory Prison as he watched from a smuggled control device for his pets. The tiny view screen zoomed in on EB. “None of those so-called Mythics ever threw a soiree, let alone a holiday, for us villains.”

Casa Nova shifted on the thin mattress in his own cell, propping himself up on his elbows to better see Gentleman Rex. “No. We get a sharing circle every other day so we can discuss our feelings.” He released a depressed sigh as he flopped back down. “Life isn’t fair.”

A shout from one cell further down the hallway cried out. “Just a couple seconds and I’d be able to take them all down. A few drops of my enhanced cold compound in their hot chocolate supply would do the trick.”

“Quiet, Symptom. People don’t want to hear from you anymore. The world is sooo over you,” Primula shushed the villainess from through her own princess pink cell door. “Infectious disease is so last year.”

“You all drive me crazy,” The Crooked Man said from behind the glass of his special containment cell. His form shifted at strange angles as he attempted to escape the pan-dimensional barrier that trapped him. “Talk, talk, talk. In every version of yourselves, all you do is talk, talk, talk.”

“You think you’re the only one to have it bad,” Gamer G said from his cell. “We all got the joystick where the sun don’t shine. All of us, except for one.”

The fury and threat in his voice couldn’t be misinterpreted.

All the others in their cells, even the ever-silent Crystal Anubis, groaned with ire and agreement.

Suddenly, Gentleman Rex shot up from his leather lounge chair and threw his controller to the floor.

“NOOOOOO! I refuse to believe it.”

“What’s going on? Are they all singing Kumbaya now?” Casa Nova asked.

“He’s there. He’s actually there interacting with them.” Gentleman Rex kicked the control device to the barred door to his cell.

On the screen, Skelanimal could clearly be seen playing along with the other heroes during the snowball fight. He even sported a toothy grin as he frolicked in the snow, enjoying a freedom none of the others in the prison could imagine.

Adventures in Snow Town: Day One

by Starmaster
#14716

“Shouldn’t we be doing something more”- Wyldfyre stopped midsentence as a snowball smacked him alongside his cheek, - “productive?”
Prysmatica ducked back behind the elm tree she was using as cover. “We need a break for some fun just like anyone else.”
“Who are we to argue with the plans of Santa and the Easter bunny?” Chained Angel said. She bent a white feathered wing around her to block a snowball thrown by Timebender while creating a frosty projectile of her own. “If they want to give us a holiday, I’m not going to say no.”
All around the newly constructed Snow Town, heroes frolicked about, combining their super-powers and abilities with an age-old winter activity. Quaint in its appearance, the new location provided an excellent battleground for the activity. Trees and buildings provided physical cover while the banks of snow provided plenty of ammunition.
Krystal Fae, or in the spirit of the holiday, Krystal Frost, hovered in the air just to one side of one of the wooden buildings. Her position offered both cover and wide scope of vision. She flung snowballs at a higher than normal rate, as if she were moving at a heightened speed.
“Now that’s not fair!” Captain Bob called out. “Did she cast haste on herself or something?”
The Extraordinary Were replied, “Who cares? You might do better if you took your blindfold off.”
Fleagle bounded out from a stand of trees, throwing several snowballs at once at Captain Bob. “Don’t worry about him. You need to worry about why these snowballs of mine are yellow. Barrooooo!!!”
Macaia’s Daughter laughed. After getting out of her rut a few weeks prior and playing cards with many of the heroes, she found it easier to let loose and enjoy the fun. She rolled a snowball in the accumulation on the ground, making it the size of a bowling ball before hurling it at Abra Kadabra. “You need to chill.”
With a wave of his hand, Abra Kadabra made himself ethereal and the giant missile flew through him and struck Taemdoog.
“What you think this perma-flake EB mentioned about?” Catalyst asked Zen.
Of all the gathered heroes, nobody seemed more at ease or comfortable trudging through the snow. The penguin flapped a wing and hurled a snowball straight into the center of Catalyst’s face. “How should I know?”
Catalyst wiped the slush from his goggles. “It some type of icy crystal. You expert on ice.”
“True,” Zen said. “But unless EB is making it for the ultimate margarita or something, I’d rather just play in the snow than worry over it.”
Frequently, the fun-loving heroes would venture over to a plain, wooden sign in the middle of the town, searching for their names on a list of participants.

“Leave it to Santa to be able to make a sign that updates a list of how everyone does,” Starmaster said. He created a new snowball with his Snow Thrower. He telekinetically lifted it off his palm and sent it out into the woods. “It’s sometimes very scary to think about what he knows about everyone.”
Crossroads nodded. “He’s like that in every dimension, according to my alternates.” She opened a portal in front of her hand and summoned a snowball. She looked through the aperture until she found the Sword of Gerraxia. The green and gold clad heroine was in an office of some type of manufacturing plant. The delicious scent of fresh cookies wafted up through the rift between their two locations.
“Hey, Gerri,”- Crossroads threw the snowball onto the top of her friend’s head, - “bring some cookies with you to go with the cocoa when you get here.”
The Sword of Gerraxia shook the snow out of her hair. “Crossroads, just you wait until I get—”
Crossroads closed the portal and snickered.
While Crossroads toyed with the Sword of Gerraxia, Starmaster concentrated on his snowball in flight. He guided it all around the town until he reached the building behind Krystal Frost’s perch. He arced the snowball into the air behind her and released his grasp on it, letting its momentum carry it to her unsuspecting form.
The snowball connected and a masculine shout resounded about the town, “WHO DID THAT?”
“Oh, that tricky little minx,” Starmaster said under his breath.
“What? That didn’t sound like her?” Crossroads said.
“No,” Starmaster said. “She put an illusion of herself around Director Nova.”

#22349 and #23601

Do you like the combination of hard-hitting martial arts and fantastical super-powers?

A new collaborative fiction effort has been posted in the Fiction Forum. All players are welcome to join in and contribute to the plot of Silent Enemies.

Begun by Silent Shadow, a skilled martial artist from Japan, this story is transformative. Literally. Some of the villains Silent Shadow faces are werewolves. Silent Shadow, a mute, recently showed up in the Fiction Forum for a tea with his sister, a spy, who currently works with BADGE.
There is also a mysterious opponent named Red Oni, a strange white cat, and hints of a deeper plot waiting to be unveiled.

Fiction Forum posts of at least three or four sentences or a few paragraphs are eligible for awards of 2 Reality Writer Power Cards. Collaborative stories are also eligible for monthly rewards given to the best overall efforts in storytelling.

Everyone is welcome to read and participate in the telling of this story. The goal isn’t to write an Emmy winning screenplay. Don’t worry about being judged for your contributions. The Fiction Forum is a place to explore your character beyond the gameplay in of battles, fight-clubs, and event challenges. It is also a good place to find some entertainment and enjoyment as you build something, other than a headquarters, for your character with other players.

There are other collaborative efforts in progress.

Join in. Give it a shot. What else is there to do as we wait for Snow Town to go live?

What is Snow Town???

by Chaz Hamilton

#22349

Winter brings one thing in particular everywhere it touches.

SNOW!! Yet another four-letter word that some people love and others despise.

A post by developer Nick Shapiro stated

Most believed this to be a statement about local weather, as most of us complain and comment on.

Now, a strange button has appeared on the main Heroes Rising Game Page. A button, that is a large RED button (which of course means that it is to be pressed) that takes you to a picturesque winter scene.

A yellow aura glows about the sign when you touch it, the universal sign for a quest of some sort, and reveals the message above.

What does all this mean???

Is Santa's village expanding? Has global warming forced the toymaker away from the North Pole?

There is a comment in the message about receiving a message from B.A.D.G.E., a strange message. Has Strange Quark gone and done something bizarre? More bizarre than normal?

As if the strange message on the sign isn't strange enough!

Perhaps the strange message will come in the form of a new story by Dan Peyton?

The world is abuzz, nah, shivering with anticipation as we wonder what new adventure is in store.

Keep your eyes on the snowflakes.

NEW ENHANCEMENTS IN THE GAME - UPDATES

By: Todd Goode ID#12205
There have been a few pretty cool new enhancements to the game that can save time on character maintenance and gifting. Let’s check them out and see how they work.

SELL X  --  You now have the ability to sell power cards by the number by using the ‘Sell X’ button, so you don’t have to sell them one at a time anymore. That will save a lot of time and it is really easy to use. The ‘Sell X’ button is located on the training page by each one of your power cards.

Simply click the ‘Sell X’ button on any power card and you will get a prompt. The prompt will show you the sell info for each card. It will show:
  •  How many of that power card you have.
  •  How much each power card sells for in bux, crystal or MP
  •  How much you will get for the sale of ‘x’ amount of cards
You just need to enter the amount you wish to sell in the text box and it will show what you will get for the sell below the text box. When you are ready to sell, click the “Sellback’ Button and you will get another prompt to confirm that you want to sell.
If you are sure and ready to sell, click ‘Yes, I’m Sure’ button and the sell will happen. If you decide you do not want to sell after all, click the ‘Close’ button and no sell will occur. Repeat the process for the next sell.

There is another new update that will let you sort your power cards. It is the check box below the card search text box. When checked, it toggles between all of your cards or just the cards you want to see that still need to be upgraded to the next tier. It saves a lot of time when have to search through hundreds of cards after a while. Saving time will allow you to help you strategize how you want increase your power. It’s a nice addition to the other sort buttons.

GIFTING FROM PLAYERS PROFILE PAGE – FIND PLAYER BY ID# - SMALL MORE-FUN BARS
There is another new update to the players profile page that will allow you to gift all those on your friends list. You can gift all the normal items like the Large Hatoraides and Large More-fun bars and now we can send the Small Hatoraides and the one everyone has wanted for some time now. We can gift the Small More-Fun bars now. That is super nice. Plans are under way to make this update available on the league page/tab as well. It should be done soon.

While it’s not so new of an update, you have the ability to look up players by their ID numbers. This comes in handy for finding a certain toon to scout or to maybe add them to your friends list in the game. Just type in the player’s ID number and click the ‘Go To Player’ button and you can see the player’s profile page. It’s a nice touch.

Check these updates out. Play with them and see how they work to your advantage. Thanks to the Devs for making play a bit easier.

New BOOST Power “BRANCH LEAP”

 by Chaz Hamilton

ID# 22349

“There are plenty of heroes who protect the concrete jungles of the world, but some fight to protect the areas without skyscrapers and subways. They stay hidden in the parks, nature reserves, and forests that, in today’s high-tech world, often are left forgotten.” Chaz Hamilton said into the camera. “Today, we are looking for one such hero. One that has been reported to protect New Amsterdam’s largest natural preserve, Peyton’s Park.”

His cameraman, Mitchell, removed the camera from his shoulder. “You know that this is just an urban legend. There isn’t a secret hero of the forest here in New Amsterdam.”

“I’ve done the research. There are multiple police reports describing people that were attacked while in this park and then saved by some mysterious being out of nowhere.” Chaz replied as he started walking on one of the marked pathways deeper into thickening forest.

“Couldn’t we just go interview the guy at that food truck back there? Everyone loves a Taco Tuesday story.” Mitchell glanced up into the trees ahead. Had something just jumped from one limb to another further up the path?

He shook his head, dismissing his paranoia. What cape would hang out in the middle of a park when there were supervillains like Dr. Fulcrum and Vixen out there in the real world to deal with?

“Just keep the camera on me. We need some footage from out here to work into the interviews with the eye-witnesses.”

The ventured deeper into the park. Tall oak, maple, and pine trees towered over the two of them, blocking out most of the sunlight, despite the lack of leaves on the branches. White snow laid untouched all around them, blanketing the ground, except for the packed trail they walked that had been groomed for skiing. Mitchell kept his camera trained on Chaz while he droned on about the park and its history.

After several minutes, both men were breathing heavily in the air, clouds of white vapor pluming out from their mouths.

“I thought it was supposed to be warm today,” Mitchell said as he shivered as a cold breeze washed over them.

Chaz cupped his hands together and blew into them. “Blame it on the weather department. You know that they are the only people that manage to keep their jobs at the Sentinel while still being wrong half the time.”

Above them, a crack as loud as a gunshot broke the silence. A large clump of snow fell and splattered on the path just ahead of them.

The two of them looked up and searched for the cause. The crisscrossed patterns created by the layers of branches revealed nothing.

“Wind must have knocked it off,” Chaz said as he tromped through the pile of snow and continued on. “Lucky. I’m glad it didn’t land on either of us.”

Mitchell shook his head and followed with the camera cradled in his arms. He kept his eyes on the layer of forest above them.

Blending into the canopy while balancing on a thick branch, a silent observer watched them move on. A thick, black lip raised up in ire on its feline face, revealing more of its sharp teeth. Thick fur protected it from the cold weather and absorbed the sound it made as it rapidly leapt from tree to tree, digging its sharp claws into the wood.

Chaz and Mitchell approached a stretch of river that ran through the park. A small covered bridge extended from one bank to the other side as water flowed quickly beneath the structure. The sides of the river had a thin skin of ice built up on either side. Chunks of the ice broke off under the pressure of the water’s flow and were carried downstream with the torrent.

Chaz pointed, “How about some footage from over there?”

Deeper snow than that they had been wandering through rested in the area Chaz indicated. Mitchell made a disgusted face. “Can’t we just film it from here?”

“We can, but I’d really like to get more of the scenery behind me,” Chaz said. “Better footage, better chance at one of the broadcast awards shows…”

Mitchell shook his head as he moved into the deeper snow. He trudged up to his knees up the slope, cursing under his breath while he readied his camera. “Now my feet are going to be wet for the rest of the day.”

STOP!!!!” A commanding voice snarled from above him.

Mitchell spun around searching for the source and his footing went out from beneath him. He began to reel, dropping the camera into the snow as his arms whirled at his sides while he tried to keep from falling.

A white-and-gray furred man-beast leapt from a branch thirty or forty feet in the air behind him and landed within inches of Mitchell. A clawed hand reached out and grabbed at the equipment harness the cameraman wore, securing him from falling backwards.

A large whoosh erupted as the snow behind the two of them collapsed down into a large pit. The feline-humanoid turned Mitchell around so he could see what he almost fell into.

Clearly female, the rescuer crouched down and sniffed at the air. “A sinkhole. You need to stay on the paths. They're there for your safety.”

“Th…th…thanks,” Mitchell said as he forced his heart back down from his throat into his chest.

“I knew you would be out here.” Chaz moved through the snow up towards the other two. “Can I get a statement from you—”

Snow Leopard leapt back into the canopy of branches and disappeared from sight.

Countering Opponents Gear (Budget Player Edition)

 By TheSaintlyCloser⁵ᵗʰ

Full-time Guide To The Omni-Self and Part-time Financial Adviser

ID# 10910

Budget player: That's a weird term isn't it? It implies that someone else doesn't have a budget, which is just silly. Everyone has a budget.

I think the term "budget player" is designed to keep people with disposable income from believing they can compete at the highest level. Which I think has been proven to be inaccurate.

Another definition of a "budget player" might be someone that considers themselves to have only one suit of gear. They might only buy a new item if they sell the item in it's slot. They may not even consider switching an item out to try and beat someone they lose to regularly. This article is for them but it would be nice if it helps anyone.

(My own idea of the best way to be "competitive on a budget" is deciding what items I can't live without!)

For awhile it was just resistances, then Weaken foe dodge%. If you Missed the Boots Of Clarity, you were hurting in competition. We did get some more -dodge% items, so they aren't as big a deal anymore. Some more epic resist, or something like "Stun Resist" could easily be the next items to tip the scales, though more +damage gets my mps too.

The Golden Rule:
Absolutely anything, is better than a wasted slot.
Do not be too good to look at the free options. If you can counter some of your opponent's slots, and benefit from all of your own, you're on the way to a win.

Step one of conquering an undefeated opponent, is to look at resistances. Both what they are resisting, and what you can resist.

You may have to waste a fight or two here. You're going to have to find out what they resist of damage types besides the ones you're using right now. Without that knowledge, it's going to be pretty difficult to switch to a better option. So throw on some other types, hit DUEL, and see what/how much, gets through.

Once you figured out what damages you both can and can't make use of, (Which will almost always leave some empty spots in your suit), the next step is optimizing the leftover spots.

The first part is simple. For budget players, the first, cheapest, and best counter to massive damage, is going to be proper use of resistances and Xdamage%. It’s the next best place to get a big hit after + damge. However, Xdamage just multiplies base damage, and you increase base damage by increasing your stats. So, a useless slot making use of some +Strike% is not a terrible idea either. (Or +Block% on Defense) You'll also want to avoid the opponent resisting your core on these big hits, so going coreless is an option here.

I have found some wins by sacrificing the core counter. The core counter reduces base damage and subtracts an amount of same type +damage. It is the basic gear countering strategy, and what most would expect you to do. They may well be resisting both naturally opposing options. In this case, forget weakening their base damage, maybe switch to an option they aren't countering, that resists their other +damage instead. Or do neither and stack more +damage of your own, it al depends on the interactions between you and your opponents gear.

Don't ignore Stun and Stun resist. A stunned player can't attack you, and there isn't a lot of stun resist available.

Now, there's also some newer mechanics out there, like Auras, Regeneration, Bleed, Bloodsucking, Super Life Force Extract, and Nightmare.

Most are still just damage, but some of them might be confusing for you to pick one slot over another at first. Some of them will damage the opponent and bring life back to you, doubling their effectiveness, in some fights. Most can also be resisted, dodged, don't apply on every hit, and seem to have some individual rules.

An "Aura" can damage your opponent even when you miss. That's exciting! As Auras "Power creep", their use against higher budget players with higher movement stats could be incredibly valuable. They're already a lot better than a wasted slot, but will only get stronger, so keep your eyes on those too.

TheSaintlyCloser⁵ᵗʰ is here to help, so if you have a question about a particular opponent or scenario, look me up in game or on Facebook. If you just want to talk gear, I'll happily listen to your thoughts as well.
