Fan Fiction Contest: BEE the Man: Season 1 Episode 4: Big Bees and a 150 Lb Ninja Squirrel

by: 10950

Fuma Hanzo was busy whittling a walking stick out of a branch, out by his cabin in the woods. He was so invested in carving each detail, that he didn't notice the shadowy figure stalking him just inside the tree line. Suddenly, the tree stump next to him burst into splinters as a gunshot echoed through the woods. Taking cover behind a large rock, he tried to spy his assailant, but couldn't find him. He began listening to his surroundings, hoping the animals of the forest would clue him in. Just then, he heard the loud crash of one of his traps being sprung, as a familiar voice yelled in surprise. Normally, the traps around Hanzo's woods were meant for game, but he wasn't upset one trapped an intruder instead. Walking up to the man dangling from a rope by one ankle from a tree, Hanzo tapped him with his now unsheathed sword.

"How's it going, Island?" he said to the captured intruder.

"Uh........ Hey Hanzo." Mayor Justice, aka Island, replied. "Fancy meeting you here. I was just hunting some squirrels and got caught in this snare."

"Fancy meeting me here?" Hanzo asked. "I live here. You know this. So why did you take a shot at me?"

"Shot at you?" Mayor Justice feigned innocence. "Was that you? I thought you were a big squirrel."

"A 150 lb squirrel dressed in a yoroi wearing a pirate hat? Seriously?" Hanzo replied.

"We've both seen way crazier things and you know it!" exclaimed Justice. "Now cut me down."

"No." answered Hanzo.

"No????" exclaimed Justice. "What do you mean no? You can't just keep me dangling up here! I'm the Mayor!"

"Not till you tell me why you're here taking pop shots at me." demanded Hanzo.

"I think I can answer that." came another familiar voice.

Hanzo pointed his sword in the direction of a man dressed all in red techno armor.

"Hello, Rakly." he said. "Something I should be concerned about here?"

"You're damn right you should be concerned!" yelled Island. "Rakly, get him! Look what he did to me! It's obvious he's guilty! Take him out now! You're done for, ninja boy! The cavalry has arrived!"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" paused Rakly. "We're not taking out anybody."

"Guilty of what?" Hanzo asked.

"Do me a favor." Rakly asked. "Cut him down and we can talk about it inside your cabin."

"How about we just leave him hanging out here while you and I go inside and have a talk instead?" posited Hanzo.

"Or we could just do that." answered Super Rakly as the two headed for the cabin.

"You can't just leave me here like this!" yelled Island. "This is completely undignified! I'm the Mayor, gd it!"

Several hours later after Rakly debriefed Hanzo on the situation, the 3 headed back to Avengers HQ to devise a plan. Rakly showed Hanzo one of the man bees they had captured, that had some of Hanzo's DNA as part of its genetic makeup. After about an hour with the creature, Hanzo and Rakly met with the rest of the Avengers in the Avengers League Hall.

"Well" Hanzo started. "I have been able to communicate with it despite its limited human vocabulary. The presence of my DNA in these creatures allows me to communicate on an almost telepathic level with it. Separated from the hive, it seems to be rather easy to control for me, using our genetic similarities to convince it I am one of them. However, the hive mind is always in the background seeking to reassert control. We have to get inside the hive, find and dispose of the queen, and then I can use my connection with them to control the rest so that we can bring this nuisance to an end."

"What do we do once you have control of them?" asked Anomaly. "I don't think we have the facilities to hold so many prisoners."

"I will convince them to take my ship, the Time Bandit. and find a new world they can call their own." answered Hanzo. "Everyone get your gear together and get yourselves ready. We leave in 0200 hours."

Fan-Fiction Contest September: The Seed of Anubis Reborn

By Pharaoh ID: 34761

The Crooked Man, sometimes known as Hem-Netjar, Priest of the Seed of Anubis: Pharaoh Ankh Nakhti Meri Nesu, stood by an empty operating table. The old Egyptian priest remembered the stone tables they used to work on to create the mummies of old, delicately removing organs from deceased loved ones to prepare them for the afterlife.

He even recalled doing the very procedure for his beloved God-King. That was so many years ago. So many eons had passed, waiting on the Seed of Anubis to finally rise again. And he had done so. But not at his full potential. Pharaoh should have had the powers of time and space to bring forth the Black Pyramid, heralding a new empire for the God-King to rule over.

Instead, the pharaohs powers were a small slice of what he should be capable of.

Hem-Netjar considered the problem. He had watched the world grown and change since the death of Ankh Nakhti Meri Nesu. The priest had tapped into the Nth Dimension and used its powers to alter and change his own form, allowing him to wait for the God-Kings return. Perhaps he had grown a bit mad over the millennia of waiting, preparing, plotting. He had just managed to complete the ritual when one of those costumed freaks managed to catch him. But it was too late. Pharaoh, the Seed of Anubis, had indeed risen.

Granted, he had risen where his body was laid, on display in the British Museum in London. The Mummified corpse of Pharaoh was listed as an unknown king, discovered in an unknown tomb found in some unknown location. That was how Hem-Netjar had planned it. Grave robbers could not steal what was not there. In time, the priest had allowed the tomb to be found by archeologists, bringing the body of his God-King to London.

The Morphons had infused Pharaohs body when Legion seeded the earth. But until Hem-Netjar had performed the ritual to raise him, Pharaoh was still dead. Now, the God-King worked to regain his powers of time and space in order to return the Black Pyramid from which he had ruled on high so long ago.

Which brought us back to Hem-Netjar's current dilemma: how to restore the power to raise the Black Pyramid without the power of the Black Pyramid to begin with. A Catch-22.

Pharaoh walked into the sterile operating room and considered the priest across from him. The man still wore his "Crooked Man" outfit, as it seemed to be his persona for so long it suited him. His body continued to phase in and out of existence as he accessed the Nth Dimension, whether he did it purposefully or subconsciously, Pharaoh could not tell. Behind Pharaoh, he was followed by Lady Jynx, come to offer opinions and stay in the loop.

"What do you have for me, Hem-Netjar?", Pharaoh asked. "You had hinted that you may have a solution to the issue".

"Yes, my God-King", Hem-Netjar replied, ignoring the roll of Jynx's eyes behind Pharaoh. "I have possibly devised a solution that will boost your already considerable power and draw out the latent abilities that we know you have but refuse to manifest."

Both Hem-Netjar and Pharaoh hated mentioning the issue out loud, as they both felt it betrayed the God-King with mortality and weakness. There was nothing to be done about it though, it had to be solved. Pharaoh fought back anger and motioned for Hem-Netjar to continue.

"I will tap into my connection to the Nth Dimension and augment that with spells and prayer, and the new sciences that have developed over the recent centuries." Again, Hem-Netjar ignored the smirk on Lady Jynx's face. She had no trust of his spells and prayers that were mystical mumbo-jumbo, as she called it.

"And you believe this will bring forth the hidden potential?" Pharaoh inquired.

"I do, my lord. But there is a catch."

"Here we go", Jynx muttered, stepping up to the table. "And what catch will that be, priest?"

Hem-Netjar ignored her, but Pharaoh stared at him and commanded him to continue with his piercing eyes.

"In order to accelerate your powers to their maximum potential, we must first de-construct your powers to their most dormant state, to a human level"

"Whoa Whoa Whoa!", Jynx exploded. "Are you trying to nicely say that you need to strip our boss, our leader of ALL of his powers and make him totally normal? And what if this plan doesn't work? What if you strip him down and can't jump start his powers? Do we sell him for parts..." Jynx was cut off as Pharaoh raised his hand for silence.

"What are the chances this will work?" Pharaoh's voice was low but had the commanding presence of a man who was used to being in charge, obeyed without question.

Hem-Netjar stood a few minutes and considered how best to answer. His form phased out of its "Crooked Man" persona and was instead replaced with the original Hem-Netjar persona in ancient Egyptian jewelry around his neck and arms, a purple shendit around his waist. He was exactly as Pharaoh remembered him and trusted from the old empire he had ruled.

"My Pharaoh, My God-King, Meri Nesu... I cannot promise that this will be 100% successful. It is possible I have made mistakes. I am only human. But I have been gathering data and knowledge for the past 10,000+ years since your former life. In that time, I have learned mroe than anyone on the planet. I see the connections between the Science and the Mystical, and how to bind them to my will." Hem-Netjar looked down from the Pharaohs eyes and closed them. "All I can promise, is that I will do my best and do everything I can to ensure your rebirth. Once you have done so, The Black Pyramid can rise, and you will take your place as supreme being and lord of the planet."

Pharaoh continued staring at his most loyal subject, the one man he had entrusted his initial resurrection with. Lady Jynx just stared dumbfounded at the man across the table. Hem-Netjar knew better than to speak further. It was now time for the Pharaoh to make his decision.

"Do it."

******

Jynx had raged for over an hour at the stupidity of this attempt. All this was going to do was strip the powers from their leader, leaving them with no protection, no guidance, and no home. Pharaoh heard none of these outbursts as he had stayed in his prayer chamber, contemplating the decision, embracing his destiny, and preparing his body and mind.

Dressed in only his shendit and a robe, Pharaoh returned to the operating theatre, his loyal subjects had gathered in the observation areas, with Hem-Netjar standing below, assisted by Lady Jynx. The room had the same table as before, cold and lifeless steel shining in the harsh glare of the lights that shone down on it. Pharaoh could not help but notice the restraints that had been added to hold him still during the procedures.

The room also now had large containers of different liquids around the edge. Tubes came out of them that brought the liquids to the operating table, connected to syringes hovering up above it. The liquids were visible through the glass of their large containers, swirling colors of blues, oranges, purples, greens, and all the colors of the morphons. Also swirling among them was a black mist that could only be Nth Dimensional influences. Hem-Netjar gestured for Pharaoh to lay on the table, a pillow placed for his royal head to rest upon.

"The first part of the procedure replies on mysticism to strip you down to your most base form: pure human. Once the ritual is performed, I will begin the transference of the solutions to your body and begin rebuilding your power."

As Pharaoh lay upon the table, Jynx began attaching several diodes leads to his body, not only to monitor his body functions, but several designed to measure power levels of "super" individuals.

The three major power levels labeled "Attack, Defense, and Move" jumped up considerably, but not to levels needed to defeat every superhero that would challenge him during his revolution. Certainly not enough to go against the combined efforts of B.A.D.G.E.

After attaching the leads, Jynx retreated to a spot out of the way. Hem-Netjar stepped forward placed his hands hovering above Pharaohs Chest. He chanted quietly, barely mumbling the words at first. Pharaoh lay perfectly still and eyes closed.

Slowly, subtly, the mumbling of Hem-Netjar began to get louder, more distinct. The words were still unintelligible, but as the words grew in volume, a yellow glow began to form around the priests’ hands. Vapors of the yellow began to drop down like mist, rolling across the pharaohs chest and slowly covered his body in the fine vaporous mist.

Up in the viewing stands, the loyalist known as Antman leaned over to Zeus sitting beside him and whispered, "So if we can steal powers from people with this spell thingy, why don’t we just steal powers from all the other heroes so we are the only ones left with power?"

“Because” Zeus replied. "The target must be a willing recipient. It won’t work if the target is physically and mentally fighting the process. It requires complete trust in the one casting the spells. Note the restraints aren't used yet".

As Antman looked again, he realized the restraints still sat unattached to the God-King. He sat back and continued watching the progress in silence, as a beep on the monitors began to emit softly. All eyes were drawn to the display as the Attack, Defense, and Move power levels began to drop rapidly. When finished, the levels settled at the point a normal human would have, if they worked out and exercised daily. Pharaoh himself lay perfectly still on the table.

Jynx again stepped forward and with shaking hands at first, began to attach the restraints to her boss. His wrists and forearms were restricted against the table, as well as his shins and thighs. A larger restraint was placed across his chest and tightened down. Finally, a restraint was brought across the pharaoh’s forehead restricting his movements completely. Hem-Netjar followed behind her checking each restraint to double check they were all as tight as possible without restricting blood flow.

Once he was happy with the restraints, he reached up and began lowering the contraption above that held the syringes. Jynx assisted by holding each one while Hem-Netjar prepared the injection sights across Pharaohs body. One by one they were placed under his skin in the vessels.

Now Hem-Netjar paused and took a deep breath. The entire chamber was dead quite except the slow steady beep of Pharaohs heart rate. The priest turned and flipped a switch on the panels next to him. a Pump began drawing liquid from the various containers and slowly made its way across the tubes above them to finally come down to the syringes. With another flip of a switch the syringes filled and began to inject the fluids into the God-Kings body.

The first indication of change was in the heart rhythm. It immediately began to pick up speed, increasing from 60 beats a minute to 90 in one jump. Sweat began to form on Pharaohs body, which Hem-Netjar wiped away gently with a cold cloth he had already prepared.

Pharaoh's body temperature increased to over 101 degrees while his heart rate continued to increase to over 100 beats per minute. His blood pressure raised considerably and alarmingly. With a terrified look, Jynx stepped forward, but Hem-Netjar held his hand up, much like Pharaoh would do to her when he wanted her to be quiet. Surprising even herself she fell silent.

A new beeping drew everyone’s attention back to the monitor that listed his power levels. Slowly, achingly slow, the levels began to increase. Hem-Netjar smiled as he saw the progress, as Jynx found her voice again.

"They aren't raising very quickly. Is that expected?"

"Nothing is expected at this point", Hem-Netjar replied. "We are in uncharted water and navigating by our wits and intuition now."

"At this rate", she indicated the monitors, "He won’t have powers levels of even newbie heroes for days."

"I see that. However, I expect the rate to grow exponentially as time progresses." Hem-Netjar watched the slowly growing monitor and nodded. "The God-King will remain in this near comatose state for quite some time. There is nothing more for you all to do from there", as he gestured to the loyalists gathered in the viewing area. They stood and slowly started filing out of the room, leaving Hem-Netjar, Jynx, and Pharaoh alone.

"How long in a coma?" she asked.

"As long as it takes", was his only answer. She shook her head and left the priest to watch over his once and future king.

FAN-FICTION CONTEST September | Origin Story: The Birth of IѦᔕιƚҽ (Part 2)

Months after my awakening, with my powers still new and untrained I received a vision as if the universe was speaking to me, Images one after another would appear followed by doors opening in the physical realm. I was shown a contest between heroes and villains alike. A contest of leagues competing for Glory. I was shown an image of myself competing in this contest with a group of Heroes that I was yet to meet. I can’t really explain it to you other than my new power of Insite allowed me to see possible futures before they happened.

As I set out to meet these new Hero’s, one after another they rallied to my cause to build a team of believers that were interested in personal growth. That were interested in an awakening, enlightenment, breaking down old beliefs and breaking through to new ones, an arrival of a deeper understanding of truth and a higher self-consciousness.

As we banded together we committed to nothing more than riding the cosmic waive that brought us hear. As the contest began, we saw victory after victory, and as if was pre destined we won the Division Championship. The cosmos has not spoken to me since that day, at least not about these League Wars, but I know now that wherever the waive takes us, through the power of Insite we will continue to grow in strength until we are strong anoff to defend against the threat of Legion.

Getting to know you: Community in HR

Toon id 23119

By shooter mcstabbin

So at this point we understand that not everyone in game is an extreme extrovert. We have people that play just for the fun factor and are happy in their bubble. That’s all well and good.

But I’m often surprised by the lack of communication and community in virtually every league except avengers/colony, villains inc, wmd, pain, 5th. For instance I’m astounded that as big as freaks league is, they communicate almost exclusively on the in game league chat board.

For the purpose of war this is highly highly considered an extraordinary disadvantage. Game breaking in fact. The magic that was shc was captured in the community. Players should do everything in their power to recapture that sense of community. Know each others names. Form fb league groups. Form fb messenger chats to communicate in game needs through shared resources. Work together to build up your leagues. Even if a single off shoot league at a time.

I will soon be launching a new league in game and will be moving some of my toons into it with the sole purpose of trying to motivate a small handful of committed players into coming aboard and learning how to share igc, how to work together in events. How to calculate league averages for wars. How to best optimize their gear.

If interested comment guid below or pm me. I’m not aiming for gold with this team. I just want to help build some players up. And if we can get a strong silver performance out of it, fantastic. I just feel like 90% of the players are playing at 20% of their potential.

FAN-FICTION CONTEST SEPTEMBER: THE PREQUEL... IN ANOTHER DIMENSION

This is the story of Frozen Flatulence, before she became frozen, and before she was flatulent.

It begins in an alternate dimension in a parallel universe not unlike the one we are familiar with.

There was a planet called Uranus No. 1. It was known as Uranus 1 because it was the first of many gassy giants filled with methane that populated the universe. Uranus 1 was in itself devoid of life but one of its many moons, Titania, supported life due to the heat generated from the gassy giant.

On Titania, all kinds of life flourished, including a humanoid(-ish) carbon-based organism that thrived on methane ejected from Uranus 1.

Over millions of millennia, this organism evolved into a species of benevolent, friendly beings known as the Titanians. These beings could teleport across vast distances in space by taking advantage of quantum uncertainty to cause their subatomic particles to jump over improbable obstacles such as space and time and rematerialise elsewhere.

Mischievous Titanians are known to use this particular ability to play pranks on their elders by making their body parts disappear and reappear on other planets. These pranksters are known as gas-hoppers.

One such gas-hopper, a young girl called Fran not only mastered the art of gas-hopping; she was able to extend her pranks by manipulating space-time to create tiny wormholes between galaxies, thereby enabling her to instantaneously teleport any object simultaneously across the known universe. Her favourite prank was sending her brother to the dark side of Uranus just as he was about to have his dinner, then teleporting his (methane-based) food back and forth until it ignited like some kind of fire fart.

However, unbeknownst to her, this naughty prank attracted the ire of their mother, who decided to punish Fran by sending her to a complete vacuum where there was nothing to teleport, no matter to manipulate, no mass to bend space and time with. Even though the punishment was only for a day, the vacuum of nothingness caused Fran's molecular structure to "freeze", as in lose all kinetic energy. As a result, Fran never ages nor changes. She can still move by gas-hopping herself wherever she wanted to go, but doing so would cause methane to be ejected from her body, hence her flatulence...

The Hanzo Ninja Clan School Of Anything Goes Martial Arts Presents: Costume Up, Crusaders!

by 10950

It's the start of my favorite time of year again, Halloween! Ok, for most of you, it's still too early for Halloween. But Haunted House Scare Attractions are already starting to advertise. Popup Halloween stores are starting to advertise. And merch has started hitting the shelves of the big box stores. You know what else is just around the corner? The Heroes Rising Halloween Costume Contest!!!! I'll try not to get banned from Facebook this year so I can participate too, but you know me. We'll see. Fingers crossed.

This time of year shouldn't just be on your mind for Halloween. Let me elaborate. We all play a make believe game where we run around as heroes or villains, either saving the day, or giving others a reason to save the day. We pretend in stories we write and in banter between toons both in game and on Facebook. For the time we play, we get to let our imaginations run wild and be Superman, Batman, Ironman, or whomever. Perhaps we straight up copy another property. Perhaps we simply emulate one. Or, perhaps we have created an entirely original character, unlike any other. Well, why stop there? Many of you have seen my videos dressed as Dew Bee or Happy. I even have a Hanzo costume some of you have seen. He's just not as fun to play as the DewBs. I've also seen past year's efforts by many of you in the costume contest, and in all honesty, many of you have done outstandingly well costuming up a real life version of your toons. But let's take it a step farther. I would like to see as many of you as I can take this Halloween season to start putting together costumes and gear for your toons to make videos throughout the year with. Trash talk me or the Mayor in them, or one of your other frienemies, and video record it to share with the rest of the community. You can be serious or silly. Your costume can be serious or silly too. You don't have to make it the best Hollywood can offer. You just have to make it fun. Perhaps you're shy and afraid to embarrass yourself. I am too. But when I put the mask on, it's not me. It's a character. They aren't laughing at me. They're laughing at my character. And that's actually a good thing. And once you get a few under your belt, you'll find it to be LOADS of fun.

So keep a lookout this Halloween season for costumes and gear you can continuously add on to and/or improve upon over the years, to cosplay YOUR character. Then start using that imagination you use when you write for or play this game, to make some fun videos to entertain both you and all your friends here. Those videos could be you trash talking another toon, maybe a quick action short or drama. If you live near other players, get together and make short 5 to 10 minute films together. Remember, they don't have to be good. They just have to be fun. I have a few surprises myself, this year.

The Hanzo Ninja Clan School Of Anything Goes Martial Arts Presents: Don't Be A Dousche!

By 25104

As many of you know, I study the game A LOT. I have countless toons for this purpose. I have 1 toon I consider my main, most commonly named Fuma Hanzo. I commonly change his name and look, but anyone that plays regularly knows which toon is Hanzo no matter what he's dressed like or named. Most folks also know about my toon Harlequin Rogue, who is a tribute toon to my favorite player from the old game. I have pretty much only played her during LWs since after the 1st year and haven't spent on her since then either. I also run many of the Dew Bees, although others have also done the same. The Dew Bees are utility alts designed primarily to collect resources to build HQs, but also for other purposes like helping other toons with easy XP. You can read in the HNC Holiday Special part 2, how to use alts to build HQs for cheap or even free. But they aren't my only alts, as many of you know. I have tons of low level place holder alts I generally use to hold my HQs safe when I am not using them. I have 5 HQs. Occasionally, I take one of those holder alts and turn it into a different type of utility alt. About a month ago, I did that with a toon currently named Happy Killmore, but whom many of you have come to know by his previous name, Life. He is a life toon. His purpose is to test ratios and gather the most information possible when scouting. He is actually built to lose, but will still garner info if he wins.

Now, I have often built toons designed to lose. All the Dew Bees were designed that way. As I level these toons up, at first, people tend to not know they are me. I often get messages from players that don't yet know that toon is me, trying to rub my nose in how bad my toon is, never taking into consideration that it might just be an alt, a just for fun toon, or a new player. It's usually after they start losing to it. Actually, I take that back. It's ALWAYS when they start losing to it. And they always have the same attitude. Now, I will state that guys like Chuck Auld and the Freaky guy have also contacted my toons and been quite the opposite, welcoming me and offering to lend me a hand with learning and my toon's development. Now, naturally, I don't need it and winning isn't the purpose for my utility alts, but it's still nice to see guys like that ready and willing to help usher in new players, rather than being a dousche.

Now, let's say I was a new player, and had only been playing for the one month Happy Killmore has been developing. Depending on who I was, some of the messages I have received on that toon could easily discourage a new player and get them to quit. Is that what you want? Because if chasing the players out of the game that you can beat is your goal, the only ones left at the end are the ones you can't beat. Then, you'll quit too, because being able to measure yourself against others is how you find value for yourself in this game, and possibly beyond.

If you enjoy this game........ If you want to see it continue and grow....... Quit being a dousche. Be the player that gets others excited to play, learn, and develop. Don't be the guy that gets folks giving up. We all like to be where we're wanted and don't like to be where we're not. If you want this game to grow, quit chasing off the new kids. If you want to beat your chest and show how good your toon is, go face the long time players in any division. Hell, if you want to talk trash to my main, go for it. But when you do it to my utility alts, I'm just gonna laugh. But when you do it to a new player you know nothing about, maybe even to a 12 year old kid, you're potentially chasing a new or young player away, hurting the game in the process, and just making an @$$ of yourself. Again, if you want to talk trash to me regarding my main toon, go for it. You already know me. But quit being a dousche to players you know nothing about and that might be new, or young, or even mentally handicapped. (YES, there ARE special needs players playing this game. At least 2.) If you want this game to grow, quit being one of the reasons it isn't. Quit being a dousche.

SEPTEMBER FAN-FICTION CONTEST ST Michael story Continued ...

It's been a while after training that in dimension called Hero Rising. I was ready return work on earth. It is weird how time flows differently. It felt like years had passed since I last set foot on earth, but, it had only been a few weeks. I observed Ukraine where I was before left not much changed. The war was still dragging on. As I just getting done my patrol of a Train station that had been made into a makeshift hospital for the wounded. When saw on horizon a fellow angel flying at high speed towards me it was my brother Gabriel. "More war is coming!" he said I have received several confirmed reports about more countries going to war.

"Seriously," I shook my head through history fought and fought it never ends. "When will they wake up and see the true enemy is the demons and weapons they use, lust, anger, pride, anger, fear and worst in my opinion the combined power of doubt and discouragement which creates hopelessness." Yes, my brother those are most cunning weapons in their arsenal." The humans may act up and cause trouble when other weapons but when they employ combined power of those weapons it causes them to be paralyzed with anxiety and fear and makes lose all will to fight and sadly many falls prey to it." I was told that you need to meet Raphael at Mount Everest, something about disease outbreak." Ok Ill head out now." Take care brother be on your guard the enemy is getting bolder." Yes, they are I thought to myself. I lifted off the ground and began my flight to the rendezvous point. As I was flying, I saw cloud of black mist all of a sudden drew closer to me. A demon mist evaporated revealing a grotesque demon with horns and rotten flesh with black maggots crawling over. I drew my sword and took a swing. I missed as he turned to mist again. As I rose my sword to block a giant fist appeared hit me in the jaw. Causing me to drop my sword. The demon rematerialized. You are pathetic all your efforts are in vain they will perish!” “You die now!” I Pulled out my dagger this time as the demon was about use his fiery breath, I threw my dagger hitting him square in the head.” Bullseye as the humans say.” I started my flight up to the mountain summit. I finally made it. There was my younger brother sitting on rock tending a fire with a stick. His long red hair blowing the in the wind. Long time no see older brother been long time.” Yes it has.” You must be wondering why I asked to meet.” You see there have been more disease outbreaks and I’ve been tasked to procure some herbs and ingredients to make a cure.” Silly humans when will they learn Father doesn’t create trash all those weeds and other stuff they throw away and some cases deemed dangerous, or a mere decoration can be used to make most of what ills them.” “Anyway, I need you get a rare root in the amazon jungle.” The humans have yet to discover it and I doubt at this rate they never will they keep on going destroying everything every with their greed endeavors, but I digress,” You will find it at the base of an ancient tree, it glows green you can’t miss it.” What happened to your sword.” I lost in a fight with a demon.” You are going to need one to traverse the jungle it is super thick and overgrown.” “Okay I'll go see Eloy he is the best and after that Ill head out.” “Take care brother be careful.” I headed up to heaven the great forges. Eloy was not angel actually he is, or I guess was a human now a resident in heaven now. In the day he lived on earth he was black smith who grew notary and fame and after he died if I’m not mistaken was made a saint. POV of a New Player: Friends

BY: Ralph PLAYER ID: 35973

The friends feature in Heroes Rising can be a bit confusing for us new people so I am hoping I can demystify some of it for newbies. It is a lot more then just "I have friends and can send them gifts". It actually helps to make you stronger and able to use more power cards!

Let's take a look at your Friends list first. When you first join, you have literally two people listed: Yourself and Director Nova. That means you have a Friend count of 2. Now I have a friend count of 306 (and I will show you how to increase your number in a moment), and my level is 28. 28 x 5 cards per level is 140 total cards I can have.

If I had less than 28 friends, I would have less access to power cards. Lets say I was level 28, but only had 10 friends. 10 x 5 cards per level is 50 power cards I could have, instead of 140. Maxing out your friends, is the best way to max out your number of cards per level.

Now you may be thinking, why isn't it 306 friends x 5 cards then? Because I am only level 28. You are maxed by your level. Gain levels, and you will gain access to more power cards at one time.

OK, so clearly having more friends is really important, but how to do make those friends? Oddly, it isn't just through charm and good looks. You have to go and ask these people to be friends with you. And while it is not difficult, it can be a long and tedious process. But the benefit of having lots of friends makes it worth it. And those people out there you are asking to be your friend ALSO need friends, so almost all of them will say yes. Let's look at how it is done.

First, you need to find a way to see a good solid list of people. You can do this in a couple of ways. You can go down a battle list from the main battle page, however there are a lot of heroes listed there that are no longer active, so they wont respond. You dont want to waste your time.

You can go to the KOTM section of fights, which will show you only people that have joined those battles recently. The bonus here is that these people are very active and are more likely to see your request.

Just recently, we had a League Wars. Now, while I am not in a league yet, I can still see the league wars participants. This gave me access to a HUGE number of players all at once, that I was able to send a ton of friend requests too. That is why I have 306 friends, and that number is still growing as people continue to see my requests in their inbox and respond.

You can also go on facebook if your account is linked to your facebook account, and go to the Heroes Rising Players page. Make a post saying that you are new and need friends, give them your Player ID, and people will start adding you as a friend on Facebook. Anyone that is a friend on facebook AND plays Heroes Rising will automatically be added to your friends list in game. If you dont use Facebook to access the game at all, then dont worry about this part.

OK, you found a source to sift through people to make friends... How do you do that? Glad you asked. Click on the very first persons name at the top of your list. So on my list, again, I went into the League War section, went to the top of the leagues fighting, and clicked on a league. This then gave me a list of people in each individual league. Apparently you need 7 people to be in a league war, so there are at least 7 in each one on these lists, some with as many as 12.

In this example, I am clicking on the league -\\\\ PAIN Inc. ////-. When I go into their league, I can scroll down to see the people in it.

Let's take the very top guy who is Dr. Hyde (I think) and it opens his profile page. Under the dual button is a Send Teammate Request button, which you want to click.

It will grey out and then show that the Teammate Request has been sent.

Now, use your back button on your browser, and you will pop back to the league member page and choose the second person, the third, etc. Send everyone in the league a request, and then move on to the next league. Like I said, this can be tedious. You are just clicking over and over. But the pay out is worth it when you have a bunch of friends that will assist in making you stronger, as well as give you lots of people to send gifts to in the gifts section we talked about last week.

OK so that is our Friends list, and now you know why they are so important. You need friends to send and receive gifts, and the higher your friends list, the more maxed out your number of cards you can use per level will be. I think that will lead us to the use of those power cards next week on the POV of a New Player. Let's make sure we are using our cards effectively, and know your different types of cards you have access to.
