Chaz Hamilton, official reporter for BADGE
here with some exciting news.
Spring is in the air. Oh, wait. That’s just Prysmatica, off flying around New Amsterdam while fighting crime, along with hundreds of other heroes. They seem to be simply super-charged this holiday season. Rumor has it that a mysterious being code named Easter Bunny, or EB, has given them special missions. Collecting eggs and showering their opponents with flowers.
(Yeah, I don’t get it either. Super powered people live in a world that is quite askew from the one that everyday people live in.)
According to my sources in BADGE, the special Easter holiday events that EB has the heroes undertaking are similar to a previously reported Frostuary. The heroes have additional activities to pursue beyond their missions for Director Nova, participation in various fight clubs, and KOTM events.
One of the strangest activities involves throwing flowers at foes while combating various opponents while wearing a special mask featuring a rabbit’s face. As if spandex and chainmail isn’t unusual enough. While in combat, flowers will suddenly appear in combination with their normal chosen signature attacks. The cumulative efforts of the 203 different heroes participating in this Flower Throw seem to be used to create a magical paint or dye, used in the crafting of special materials for the Easter Holiday.
Surprisingly, a relatively new heroine, Geomeaniac, seems to have cracked the code for succeeding at this challenge. Typically, well established heroes do well in these sorts of activities, such as Skelanimal of the WMD, many others in the Avengers 51 leagues, and other extremely active leagues. Her performance proves that if there is a will, there is a way to succeed (or compete) for all who participate.
The mainstay of the Easter Village events seems to be focused on an old-fashioned Easter Egg hunt. Heroes who carry around an extremely fashionable basket, or multiple baskets, are collecting eggs for EB. He is so grateful for the efforts in bringing in the eggs found that he has several rewards that may be claimed for the collection efforts. Blank Eggs seem to be the primary currency, but there are many other varieties of eggs out there beyond chicken, duck, and goose.
Many heroes are excited to find “Spiral Eggs”, which will aid them in fighting during those long, challenging world-raid events where a super-bad guy shows up and threatens everything.
Some other popular eggs are the Lightning Egg (which helps to re-charge heroes for one-on-one battles), the World Egg (a play on the double yolk egg. It has two eggs hidden inside the one), a Strange Egg (It can really make you move!), and a Dragon Egg (Yikes. Just Yikes!). Other eggs have assorted purposes, and nobody truly knows the secret of all the eggs, as there is even a Mystery Egg (who knows what that does?) The oddest egg is the Hero Egg, which says 2020 on it. I’ve been told the Hero Egg is safe to consume, giving a boost of the energy for five more rounds of fighting, even though the expiration date clearly has passed.
Purchases made during this event with “Blank Eggs” give the heroes options to build up their powerhouse of abilities, boost them in their efforts to “Flower Throw”, and even carries an exciting option for a Gear Core. Prices range from 3 blank eggs for a Flower Pot up to 90 for the gear named “The Heart of Eastertown”. Be sure to stop into the new store in Easter Village and check out their exciting rewards.
With all the work for this “EB” character, there does seem to be a creative outlet for our heroes as well. Supplies needed to decorate eggs have been provided and the heroes may sit down and chill for a bit and draw, scribe upon, and otherwise craft artwork of their own. These eggs are then hidden and when found, have been super-charged with additional boons for heroes to use in times of need. Plus, when the eggs are found, the creator of the decorated egg gets two “Blank Eggs” to use for purchases.
Also, as heroes are by nature competitive, there is a contest where people who make eggs using the specially provided tools can win big prizes for their Creativeness, Uniqueness, Talent, and Etiquette when crafting these master pieces. I’m sure that these PG friendly tiny masterpieces are meant to be CUTE for those who receive them, not ill-meaning or improper.
With Sunday fast approaching, heroes will have to hurry to make their best use of time so they can earn the rewards due to them for their effort. Nothing lasts forever, so get going. Make the most of what is offered because once it is gone, this season won’t come around again for three-hundred and sixty-four days.
Chaz Hamilton out. I’m hungry for some marshmallow peeps.
