This weekend, we have 24 different factions all fighting in six four-team divisions. That means that there are over five-hundred and seventy-six different heroes all fighting in varied grouping compared to league wars. Don't ask me to name them all, because many of them are unknown new-comers to most. From the darkest corners of the heroes, both new talent and old retirees have been tapped in for this competition.
My favorite thing about Faction Wars so far is I don't have to report on nearly as many divisions. Let's start looking at them one by one, starting with Division Six. First, we have Team Hammer, lead by... um... well, Jack Hammer. I was kind of expecting Captain Hammer, but there may have been legal issues. Whatever. Next, in what I am guessing is a group from the Soviet block, the People Fund. A brash group of mostly pant-less women led by Helena, this thong and shorts squad is out to make a name for itself. Third is a more recognizable name, Bomb Squad 2, led by The Mighty Rizaldy. Not the typical team we are used to from previous league wars, this group is new talent looking to burst onto the scene. Let's just hope their break-away star isn't Gong Yoo, or else young children will be chanting that name in the streets later this week. The last group is Jr Heroes, and let me tell you, they ain't kidding. 21 of them are by far the most neutral competitors I've ever scene. Maybe their leader, the Fabulous Ghengis will explain the reason for them being so completely factory-fresh.
Division 5 features Wargar, led by Pharaoh. He first made his way on the scene a few months back, eager to reclaim his throne and dominate the world from his Black Pyramid. Is his faction made up of cult followers or slave labor? Your guess is as good as mine. They will eventually be facing SOB Overlord Alliance. Yes, Sentinel Readers, somehow with the factions combining, there still managed to be 2 different overarching groups with multiple teams in different divisions. The SOB is the first of these. Lead in Division 5 by GЯΣΣП ᄂΛПƬΣЯП ♆SOB♆, there are some familiar names in this faction's roster. NWO is another League War name familiar to those who pay attention to what happens outside the top Divisions. Hollywood Hogan commands this team of former wrestling-roughneck that seeks only to get back into another ring to claim a purse and a belt. The final team is ∞ - FACTION -, led by 9PO Pluto. Those who participate in the low division events will recognize many of these level-camping combatants who fill the ranks of their target division faster than Director Nova rolls that one eye of his.
Division 4 starts off with the A Team. (cue music) These mercenaries, following Hannibal L&D (Does the L stand for Lecter?), will show no pity for any fool who steps into the arena against them. The second SOB faction, Faction of Vipers, is next, led by Archangel SOB. Watch your holes, people. MacGregors is in this division, led by Lykos. This former Shipt grocery shopper/deliveryman is now leading a large collection of characters to what he hoped to be the top shelf. Wish them luck, becasue the final league they are facing is Bowtie Karaoke, led by D.J. Pat. I hope that they realize this is Faction Wars and not America's Got Talent.
Division 3 starts off with the Star Force: Constellation, led by Chained Angel. Will losing Lykos help or hurt their chances in Faction Wars? They do have a power-hitter in their midst as Crossroads has joined their ranks, but their lower ranks will be severely tested by their opponents, most especially the first of the three Hydra <everyone say "Hail Hydra"> team. Surprisingly, the union of several top League War teams has created a new multi-headed organization that leaves no Villains Inc, Avengers, or Colony51 named team present in Faction Wars. Led by Flawless, this conglomeration of A-type personalities will be a force to be reckoned with. Bomb-Squad-Faction War is going to also present a strong threat to those in this division. Let by the Chef and his Mean-Farmer, there will be no easy meals given out during their rounds. Finally, the Bowtie Mafia, led by Baby Bowtie, fills out this roster. With many notable members, from the Powerpuff Girls to Cyndi Lauper in their ranks, this division will be the best entertainment for those watching.
Division 2 is very recognizable. Hydra takes the pole position, with 777☠Harlequin☠Rogue☠777 at the helm. They seem to have a commanding lead in this matchup against the other teams, but nothing is certain at this point. Freaks of Nature, led by Harry F Reak, has assembled a mass of talent from several leagues. The same can be said for the SOB Hunter/Killer Confederation, led by Gravitera or the Stacked Deck, led by Mr. Bowtie. Participation with be key, as well as restraint in order to capture the prize here.
Finally, Division 1. Hydra has collected a high number of top-named damage dealers into their ranks and is out for blood. Martial Law is large and in charge here, and if you look only at the levels of combatants, you can see that they do have an edge over their competitors, but never say die to The Coalition until the fat lady's been devoured. The bulk of WMD-Black Order has been BULKED UP by adding some talented players from other leagues and they will not go down easy. And don't rule out the guide and teacher to many who is out to show that those who teach can also kick butt, Hanzo Ninja Clan Dojo, lead by Dew Bee Dewbidu. Even long-time Legacy of Spawn member Krystal Fae has joined her Fae magic with pirate-ninja know-how to vie to capture this division. The last spot in Division One is filled by the sole named 5th Precinct Faction, the 5th Precinct Intergalactic Task Force. Bartman takes the reins of this faction as seeks to capture glory for its members.
Tune in this weekend and see who climbs to the top and who gets climbed on top of as FACTION WARS begins. Be sure to keep an eye on the Sentinel News, as more reports continue to come in as World Corps tries to police the world from villainy outside of their own.
Good luck to all participants. Fight hard, fight well, and remember, the Sentinel always wants to hear your side of the story.
