The Sentinel News: YOUR source for Heroes Rising Content

The Sentinel News has been an important feature for many players in their growth as a hero. It has provided useful information in articles bearing constructive advice for character builds, gear options, and strategies for game play. The world of Heroes Rising is available to explore through the lore shared by staff author Daniel Peyton and fan-fiction written by various contributors. Events have been highlighted, opinions put forth, and hero origins revealed in nearly three years of publishing.

Many people have done reporting for this fine institution. Krystal Fae is well known for her Heroes Highlights series.. Fumo Hanzo has shared multiple useful "Fumo Talks", sharing advice on everything from character advancement to gear reviews. And don't forget the 'spook'-tacular Halloween League War breakdowns by Scary Harry and Pookie. the seminal SAS Sports team coverage, or Crossroad's reports and journal entries. The Visionary, Joan of Arc, and ST Michael have added fan-fiction origin stories most recently to the mix. There have been many different voices bringing Heroes Rising events to life for readers.

When you hit the "News" tab on the side of your top taskbar, you will be taken to the archive of the Sentinel, These City Streets, where all the previous articles that show up on the main page are cataloged for you to access. 

Discover the evolution of the game from the first League War to the earliest RAID when you wander through the posts available by year and month. A new feature allows you to view the Heroes Handbook based on tags for content, such as certain topics, authors, and theme.

With Justin Towe as the new 'Big Cheese' for the Heroes Rising Game, Chih Min Chan(Strange Quark in-lore and in-game) continues in his role as Editor-in-Chief for the Sentinel News, and with the assistance of Daniel Andrade, promote, share, and reward the efforts of contributors and staff who do try to help bring the stories of Heroes Rising to all players. 

That is likely one of the best qualities of the Sentinel News. It is there for the players. There to share information about the game, but also to give all players the opportunity to share stories about their characters, comment meaningfully to other players on their game experiences, and craft elements of the Heroes Rising world itself, while at the same time offering opportunities to earn Morphon Points for game play.

PAY SCHEDULE FOR REPORTERS:
A - Forum Fiction post, or short or unused news article = 2x Reality Writer, 2x10 = 20 MP sellback
B - Any news article featured in blog (no limit) = 4x Reality Writer, 4x10 = 40 MP sellback
C - First news article featured in blog per week = 6x Stop the Presses, 30x6 = 180 MP sellback
D - First news article featured in blog per month = 1x Behind the Scenes +
10x Reality Writer, 1x120 + 10x10 = 220 MP sellback 

So, for example:

First per month = D+C+B+A = 220+180+40+20 = 460 MP
Once per week for rest of month = C+B+A = 180+40+20 = 240 MP/week
Short notes might not count as a full article, but can at least earn a Reality Writer card.

This payment schedule does not include the additional rewards for Fan-Fiction and Editorial Rewards, which Chih posts at the beginning of each new month. For example, for the month of December:

At the end of each month, ALL SUBMISSIONS TO THE SENTINEL PAGE that have been published will be assessed and given bonus rewards based on merit as follows: 

PLATINUM: 6 to 7 Strange Fiction cards (only reserved for EXCEPTIONAL submissions)
GOLD: 4 to 5 Strange Fiction cards
SILVER: 3 to 4 Strange Fiction cards
BRONZE: 1 to 2 Strange Fiction cards

These rewards go out after the end of each month and are IN ADDITION to the usual Sentinel rewards from Daniel Andrade for published entries.

Being it is the holiday season, there are ample opportunities to explore some additional topics in Heroes Rising for readers to enjoy.
