Hello readers. I won't keep you waiting for the second segment of things about Heroes Rising I am thankful for.
#2: The Players of Heroes Rising
I spent several years, before becoming a reporter for the Sentinel, working in the service industry. At one meeting, this question was discussed:
"If a customer has a bad experience, whose side should the manager take? The server or the customer?"
The stock answer they wanted was to take the customer's side because without the customer, there is no business. This mirrors the thought that you can have the best product in the universe, but if nobody buys it, it isn't worth much. People are the key to anything being successful.
While I am thankful for the Heroes Rising Game and it's developers, which I will get to in a latter post, I first have to pay homage to the other players of the game.
On the surface, I've made many new Facebook friends due to Heroes Rising, but beyond that, I am meeting a great, diverse group of people who share enthusiasm for the Superhero genre. I've met and talked to people from around the world that I wouldn't have met otherwise. I've seen acts of friendship I am envious of, acts of generosity that inspire me, and shared the stage with others who have creative minds like my own.
This game, unlike several others, celebrates a platform that builds on people gathering and interacting with one another. The formation of a long-lasting group for League Wars. A think-tank of storytellers who collaborate on creating some tale to entertain others. The comedic banter between some players in the forums. This is a place where even your online adversary can contribute to a bit of fun (as long as things don't go too far and become personal!).
For example, here are some comments between two "rivals" of the past:
"i've actually grown attached to Norman Kzaz, he was my enemy in the previous game. but i've got to know him more now n he's a solid guy! hats off to normsky, and this doesn't mean i like u lol" -- Jim Sadler
"🤡Once Enemies on the battlefield now trick or treating as friends ?" -- Norman Kzaz
"i nearly requested to join ur league, but i couldn't ruin the rivalry like that lol" --Jim Sadler
Several of my new Facebook friends have has posts stolen by me, so I can share on my page. Others contributed great 'Dad' jokes to make me laugh. I've been corrected by more knowledgeable people when I am wrong and helped when I've asked for assistance. I've even been given an out-of-game gift by a new friend I met do to this game.
And I've seen and heard of others talk about their friendships and bonds that have carried over from other dimensions previous to this realm of game play.
For all of this, I am thankful for the community of people and players of Heroes Rising. I have discovered a good deal of kindness and thoughtfulness with you. I've met exemplary individuals who are generous to their personal causes and supportive to the needs of others. I've had fun, most of all, playing with a superhero(s) I've created, either against you in Fight Clubs or events, or with you creatively while spinning a tale of fiction based in this world.
Feel free to comment with a positive experience you have had with another player in this game in the comments below this post on Facebook. And be sure to pass on any other thankful messages you would like to share with the community thru the Sentinel page.
There is an old saying, "That which is measured gets done". It is more common to see a comment placed in anger or jest in the forums. Take some time to share a positive recognition while we have the moment to plant the seed of more to come.
Happy November.
