Allyson really wanted to hang around the space station a little longer. It was an amazing piece of engineering. They had everything up here! Even a food court with any type of food you could imagine. The people running the food court, and the robots too, were so very kind to a wandering cat.
"Thank God, no one tried to give me cat food. But I have to admit, the beer batter catfish was outstanding. I will be back to enjoy more of that, regardless of what happens in the competition."
Her teammates in Red Guard were so happy with their overall performance, they couldn't help making with the cat jokes.
"Thank God Crossroads was here, it could have been a cat-astrophy if she wasn't!"
"But she was the purr-fect warrior out there!"
"When she went after Raptor, the fur really started to fly!"
"I hope she's 'feline' fine for the next round!"
When she protested too much, even Captain Kanos got in on it:
"Come on, Cross, don't be so catty! We're just twisting your tail a little bit. Paws for a moment and bask in the sunshine of our admiration!"
Allyson ran out of the room at that point. It was just too much to handle. She almost went catatonic!
Red Guard had won its first round against 5th Precinct: CODE BLUE. They put a good fight, but we had twelve members to their eight. They were just outmanned and outgunned. Allyson felt bad for them...especially after she won all her matches while in this cat form.
"That must have confused the hell out of them. I think the whole absurdity of a cat on the arena floor enable me to take down Raptor and Major William quickly. They just weren't expecting it. The rest of the squad was easy after that, except that MindMorph wasn't fooled in the least by me being a cat or popping up wherever I needed to be. He was ready every time, he just wasn't strong enough, yet. He's going to be someone to watch.
Allyson padded down the hallway, headed for the transport area, she needed to get back to BADGE HQ on the planet. Hopefully, Krystal and Catalyst will have some good news for her.
