Editorial: How to use Equipment Cores

Hello Heroes and welcome to your guide on equipment cores.

Have you challenged an opponent or mission boss only to lose realizing that the opponents are able to resist damage from your attacks?

This is largely do to the fact that some cores help resist attacks from other equipment cores. Every equipment core provides two types of resist while also being weak against two opposing core types.

Example: The Magic Core is great when attacking an opponent whose core type is Supernatural or Physical since their core is weak against Magic however the Magic Core is weak against an opponent whose core is either Elemental or Mental which means if you attack someone while you have the Magic Core equipped who has the Elemental or Mental Core equipped they will get a percentage of damage resist against your attacks.

Going Neutral is if you choose to not equip a core in the gear loadout then you will show as Neutral and not subject to anyone using a core to resist your attacks but keep in mind that all cores have include additional attributes to help increase your powers or weaken your opponents that you would not have the benefit of adding to your hero’s abilities.

Example: The Mental Core Multi-Mind adds +5 Major Damage per Mental gear equipped, Awesome Stun +25, and Amazing Weaken Foe Block 15% so you can see there are great attributes to be gained from having an equipped core.

Also if you look at a cores attributes you will see that by using additional gear such as a head, arm, leg, ring, or boot of the same type as your core you get additional damage of that core type.

Example: The Tech Core Technocrat applies +5 Tech Damage per Tech Gear used in other gear slots so by adding the tech arm Mondo Gauntlet to a arm slot you would get an additional +5 Tech damage added to your attacks along with the +16 Stupendous Tech Damage that the Mondo Gauntlet would normally provide for a total of +21 Tech damage instead of only +16 tech damage that one would get if they were using the Tech arm with a core type other than Tech.

Each core provides additional damage for each equipment slot filled by the same element but the bonus applied varies by which equipment core you select.

Example the Tech Core Technocrat = +5 damage per tech equipment equipped while the other tech core piece Plugged In gives +2 tech damage per equipped piece of tech equipment. See individual core equipment for bonus damage applied for adding additional gear of same element type.

All Mission Bosses have a specific core type so by using the graph to identify which core trumps the core type of that specific boss you can increase your odds of winning the fight against that mission boss since you will be able to resist a percentage of their attack damage.

In the picture below it shows all six equipment core types and reveals which core to use to gain an advantage over the opposing cores just follow the arrows to see what cores are best when attacking an opponent's core type.

Note: Core Slot becomes available at level 8
