League War 9 Fan-Fiction: "What Happened?"

Heroes Rising Fiction: League War 9
Chaoren ID# 26465

Being, the newest, and theoretically the second weakest, member of his team, Chaoren played the first round of the league wars cautiously.

In general, the other league seems to rate about 30% higher than their own. Fifth Precinct Code Blue has a number of experienced police supers in their ranks. It should be expected they will be better.

Chaoren sat back and watched the strongest members of his team attack...and they won with surprising ease. How can that be right? He is attacked by one of the other teams' members called Savage Gav, but his defenses were good enough that the other hero was unable to beat him. Huh?

Checking the fight records, he carefully attacked Savage Gav back, and won. Keeping track, he works his way through the ranks of the Code Blue team according to how easily his teammates defeated them. He was astounded to win repeatedly, getting nine wins in total against five different enemies...though the last fight was so close he chose not to attack a second time.

In the end, Time's Arrow won a decisive victory at 52 to 19. Chaoren was forced to concede that the handicapper that ranked them was better than he thought.

While he wonders if Code Blue was having some kind of trouble that prevented them from doing as well as they should, it does give him hope that his team might score better than he had figured they would.
