The instantly recognisable sounds of the Ride of The Valkyries, are played over drone footage of the arena battlefield. The once pristine landscaping is now clearly marked with the effects of two rounds of ferocious fighting.
The images now switch to a montage of the round two action, and then to shots of the teams trying to recover.
Zoom in on the steel statues of Nova and the senior BADGE staff … then a slow fade out and back in to the SAS Teams desk.
JayC - “Well, once again I want to thank everyone for joining us tonight via satellite worldwide as we bring you SuperActionSports review of the second round matches here at League Wars 4”
Robert Jnr- “We have seen a lot of memorable action over the last twenty four hours, some unexpected results, the atmosphere is electric, and thankfully the dome hasn’t been breached so its still breathable!”
JayC- “No technical issues with scoring this round, and all the results are in …. so lets start with Division 1.”
Robert Jnr- “ No real suprises as Avengers and WMD set up the inevitable final clash of the titans. It seems that the D1 title will always be contested between these two. Im pretty sure we are going to see a low scoring and tense battle, I wouldn't want to call it until the final klaxon sounds.”
JayC- “Its not going to be the team with the most wins that wins, it’ll be the team that gives away the most wins that loses.” Robert Jnr looks at him in confusion “It will come down to defensive wins!”
Robert Jnr- “Ahhh ok … yes! And in D2 …”
JayC- “Colony and Avengers both safely into the finals there. The NMDS vs Seraphim Angels should also be a bruising encounter. Those guys will want to finish on a high.”
Robert Jnr- “That is going to be an all out attack blitz, potentially the best action in the top two divisions.”
JayC- “And in D4 …”
Robert Jnr- “Have you forgotten D3?”
JayC- “I wish … anyway in D4…”
Robert Jnr - “In D3! “
JayC- “HO$ vs 5th Super Troopers for the final … can we do D4 now?”
Robert Jnr- “D4 saw Avengers reaching a third final, up against Suicide Squad. Another match that will go right down to the wire. Anyone planning to sleep at any point in the 24 hours of the finals is going to miss out!”
JayC - “D5 saw the pre-tournament favourites Stealth cruise to victory, and in the matchup between Red Guard and Thrill Kill Kult we saw a real frenzy of attack and counter-attack. Red Guard took it 80-60 in the end and now have to see if they can find a way to topple the bookies choice.”
Robert Jnr- “Surprises in D6 as GW failed to make the final. 101st Space Rangers took a lot of damage from the Psycho Squad, but they gave it back in spades. 5th Wise Guys beat the GW Deadly Alliance for the second championship match spot. NMDS pasted JusticeKnights and the other two GW teams had what looked like a fun sparring match.”
JayC- “And D7 saw what some people may call an upset as GW Army Of Darkness held a 34 point lead to stop the Dark Guins. Pain Inc walked straight over the second GW team to set up an final that was not on the cards for most. Star Force had a comfortable victory against the 5th Buddy Cops and in the lowest scoring match in the division Order 66 beat Freaks of Nature.”
Robert Jnr- “ Division 8 sees GW make the finals again, Army of Angel easily brushing aside the Purple Onion. I was watching that match closely and I’m not gonna lie here, felt to me like the Onion just didn’t show up.”
JayC- “Disappointing effort from the Onion, but not unexpected, those guys are either on fire or just not there, today was definitely a ‘can’t be bothered’ display.”
Robert Jnr- ”The Shield made light work of the 5th Buddy Cops and GW Mini Hell edged out the 5th Psycho Squad.”
JayC- “We’ll be back later with some exclusive interviews with the teams before the finals begin.”
Robert Jnr- “And we asked our roving reporter Mimsy to try and get a few words with Nova, so we’ll see if she got anything interesting out of that di….”
JayC- “I'll also be spending some time today talking to some of the spectators that have been in the Fuma Hanzo Human Fanzone watching the action and even getting to meet some of the heroes.”
Robert Jnr- “And I will be in the KBCorp Bar …”
