"The Sweetness of Sharing" -- League War 10 Fan-Fiction

We'd done it. We won our battle round against the MacGregors!! After we had our little Slap Fest War, our two leagues went head to head and fought our best fights. Without the pressure of fearing to fail and gaining nothing from the event, both of our leagues were able to hit the field of battle and try.

And while it wasn't a new experience for several members of the Star Force Junior League, it was my first time winning as part of a team. Wyldfyre scouted out each of the opponents, warning us of their tactics, strengths, and potential weaknesses. Arcane Ace coached and advised each other member on who we should and shouldn't challenge. All of my new league mates cheered me on as I won match after match, meeting me at the edge of the combat zone to celebrate the achievement.

They didn't just do it for me. They did it for one another as well. Support both after a win and more importantly, after a loss. What we did wasn't just for the good of the person stepping off the field, but it bonded us as a team. When it came to any effort on the field of battle, it was not my, his, or her performance. It was our performance. The Star Force Junior League.

It felt awesome!! I've won things before, and been praised, but this was different somehow. When I did well, I typically doubted the sincerity of people's congratulations. Not that I thought they were being fake or mean, but that it was only being said because it was expected. Tradition. Like saying "How are you?" when greeting people. Most of the time you're not really concerned about the person's well-being, it's just what you say because it's what EVERYONE says.

Winning with a team, you can't help but believe that they are as happy as you are. They are in it with you. Your success is their success, and vice versa. I've often hear the saying that misery loves company. It might, but success is far sweeter when shared as well.

The MacGregors' league, led by Angelus, met us after the match and we finished by shaking hands with our opponents on the field. When he and I met to exchange the formality, he patted me on the shoulder as he tipped his hat to me. "Kitt'n. You're doing great. The rest of your team is tough as nails, but GhostCat came up to us after he challenged you and said 'No one attack Madam Marvelous. She's packing hard.'"

I blushed, trying to hide my reddening cheeks behind my lustrous black hair. I didn't quite know what 'packing hard' exactly meant, but obviously, I must have made an impression. A giggle came out as I said, "Thanks, I think?!"

After we celebrated as a team for a bit, I left the group to enjoy themselves. Most of them were far older than I. Heck. Some of them were over 21 and able to drink. Only Kyrie was considered a minor, so she had virgin drinks while she posted about the fight on her YouTube channel. I headed to the quarters I shared with her and found a message waiting for me on the computer.

I wondered if it was the same person who greeted me last time before Round Three.

Smiling as I read Midgardsormr's invitation, I pictured Wyldfyre trying to fight the World Serpent. Both of them would go into the fight knowing they could win, but even I knew, only one of them would be right in their assessment. That one wouldn't be Wyldfyre...

I messaged Midgard back, accepting his invitation and forward it to my leaguemates. Then I check the listings to see who our next opponents would be. (See, noobs can learn if given the chance. I know knew something about what it would take to win a fight before stepping into a ring.)

I shapeshifted into a character sharing the same name as my secret identity for effect, even though nobody was watching. "Slap me and call me a PowderPuff Girl! We're going up against Mojo's Dojo."
