Destruction in Division 11 - LW Avalanche

Loki MacGregor ID: 26335

Loki stared at the mayhem they had caused. Giant snow forts were shattered and pummeled. Ice missiles buried deep into the ground and buildings of the arena. Both teams were exhausted.

Loki's Wargar and Captain Lou Albano's "Rock N Wrestling Connection" had outdone themselves. The smaller team members had pretty much hunkered down into the ice bunkers, but there was no hiding from the snowball throwing machine of Andre The Giant. Queen Satreyia had made a final assault and took out the Giant, but at great personal cost. She lay unconscious, even in her ghost form.

Loki knew they were spent. None of Wargar had an ounce of strength left in them. He looked back up at the scoreboard: "73 - 73"

"Damn it..."

All they could do was wait. There was an hour and a half left of the tournament. If the RnWC's had some juice left in them, now was the time to use it, and there was nothing Loki could do about it. He had to just hope they were spent too.

Of course, that would mean going into overtime. That sounded painful after the severe back and forth beating both teams took.

Was it wrong to wish the Wrestlers could just make one more win? Yeah.. that was wrong-think. Don't be a defeatist, he told himself. Maybe they will make one last attack and lose, giving Wargar the win. And maybe Penguins will fly.

"Everyone stay behind the walls. Do not poke your head out. Stay... DOWN..."

Loki hunched down behind his ice barricade and waited for the eventual volley of snowballs...

1 hour 17 minutes left. Time dragged on...

Loki couldn't help but review in his head some of the bouts that cost them points. Bogair had not been strong enough against several opponents, but he needed to make those hits. His wife Saryn had jumped in and gained us back some points, but lost a few too. Every foot they gained cost them. Every inch a battle.

He swore if Bogair had attacked Rowdy Roddy Piper one more time, he was going to beat Bogey to death himself.. well, if Bogair hadn't already been a ghost too, that is. Dude, he thought, you can't beat him. Give it up. Yeah, Bogair was going to get a stern talking to back at Wargar Camp.

Loki watched the seconds drop down to the final hour...

The warning Gong sounded and Loki noticed several of the newbies in Wargar flinch. He remembered the first LW when he was surprised by that Gong too. He checkled at the thought.

So one hour left.

"Keep it tight, Wargar!", he yelled out. "First one to stick their head up gets it stuck on a pike in front of my command tent back home!"

There were some grumblings mixed with chuckles from the group. Good, some had kept their spirits up. One more hour guys, he thought. You can do it.

50 minutes left. Was that a noise? He thought he heard a noise. Was someone moving in? Should he look?

Stay Down, Idiot, he chided himself.

40 minutes remaining. A sudden thought hit Loki. Had he left the oven on? Wait, he doesn't even cook. Why would he..? Nevermind... focus!

30 minutes remaining. Loki glanced up at the scoreboard for the other teams and looked for Lothlorien, his brother Layaks team. 86 - 33 against The Pirates Cove. Wow, he thought... Way to go little brother!

20 minutes. Wargar Camp needs a dog. We have cats, but we need a dog. Like, a German Shepherd.

16 minutes, 49 seconds left. Maybe an Irish Wolfhound...

15 minutes remaining. FOCUS!! Geeze... Wait, as that another sound? Where was that coming from?

10 minutes remaining. 10 Minutes! This is it! Down to the wire. If they were going to make an attack, this is it. I would. This is it...

5 minutes. Yeah, I would wait til the last 5 minutes. Or maybe last 3... OH! If I made the attack in the final minute they might not have time to retaliate and gain back the point! Yeah... that's what I would do.

3 minutes. Loki whispered into his comms, "Get ready.. steady... any second now... get ready..."

1 minute!

30 seconds...

10 seconds...

1... The Final Buzzer sounded. Loki looked up at the Scoreboard. 73 - 73 The Giant Red Letters "OVERTIME!" flashing above it. The clock reset to 8 Hours.

"Damn it..."
