The Great Clean Up: A How-To Guide

By Starmaster

As you can see, a new event has called all the heroes back into action.

The Great Clean Up.

We are a couple hours into the efforts to pick up after the mess the Demon Jinn left in Bursa, Turkey. That leaves the better part of two days to participate in this epic trash throw-out.

How can you best benefit from your so-called dumpster diving?

First, you need friends. The more friends the better. If your character doesn't have many friends, go to the FB (Facebook) tab on the main game screen in the right hand corner and tap it. This will take you to the Heroes Rising Players group page. You are invited as a new player to visit this page, say hello, ask questions about the game, and meet other players. A common occurrence is for new players to post a "Hello, I'm (Place Name Here) and I am looking for friends and/or a league" message.

Trust me, having many friends and a good league is a useful advantage to have in this social game. It isn't known as the Just-Me League, now is it? Around here, you will find some super...people who want you to enjoy the game as much as they do.

After you have some friends, you are going to want to press the big button at the top of the page to start your Clean Up Mission. This will place a link to The Great Clean Up to your personal Facebook page. It is important you place the original link on your personal page and keep it easy to access. I will explain the reason for that by the end of this post.

After you have the link on your personal Facebook page, copy the link as a comment in the special Global Clean Up thread by Nick Shapiro. Any posts outside this thread will be deleted to avoid utter chaos. This way it is much easier to follow all the heroes working hard and earning their volunteer service hours. Even BADGE has its bureaucracy.

Other players you have friended can then click on your link, and you on theirs to gain some free rewards. Crystals, Bux, Power Cards, and many other goodies are out there for you to grab and help dispose of. You know the old saying: "One man's treasure is another man's trash".

The rules on the main page of the game will inform you on how often you may post or click links to help out during the clean up. Pay attention to these windows of opportunity, as there are many of your fellow players out there anxious to act.

My suggestion is to copy the links of people you know are on your friends list and add them as comments to your original post on your personal Facebook page. That will make it much easier for you to find them so you can locate them when your next window is open to collect. This could also be useful to use to help keep track of what rewards you get from others.

When you first put your first link into the Heroes Rising Players thread, you might also think about copying the link to your league-mates or good friends directly through Messenger. Friends help out friends, right?

To everyone out there, good luck with the clean up efforts. If you have no clue what the clean up is all about, be sure to check out the Lore tab and read the newest story What we left behind: Part 1. Following is a link to it on the blog page These City Streets, as well.

Be sure to follow this amazing story. I know I will be.

I hope these small hints and guides will make it easier for you to succeed and get some great rewards from this event. I've already gotten a Dragon's Fury and a Strange Duck Power Card.
