Hero Olympiad: Day One - Most Attacks Won

The Hero Olympiad has begun.

In a timely nod to historic tradition, BADGE has once again fostered an event meant to bring our heroes together in the spirit of friendly competition. OK, maybe mostly friendly, as there will be plenty of beatdowns going on for today’s themed event.

MOST ATTACKS WON

There are three division for this competition where heroes have been evaluated into groupings by their levels of experience. The lowest division, Division 3, is made up of newer contenders or contenders who manage their ascension into higher League War divisions. From level one, which is the newest level of hero to level 40, these combatants have to balance their efforts to actively participate vs their gains. Morphon powers of our heroes seem to increase as they engage in combat activities, especially when victorious in the effort. Many of these heroes are deliberately pacing themselves to remain in this ‘sweet spot’ to maximize their relative gains.

With 59 different heroes currently engaged in efforts to be the ‘winningest’, it seems that participation in this division might be underutilized. If you are a hero out in the world, no matter what your capability, please join in. There is said to be a reward at the end of the Olympiad for each participant who actively competes in every round.

In Division Two, we find heroes that are more powerful than newbies but not as tough as the upper crust of heroes. Let’s call this the Jan Division, as they are caught in between the powerhouses that slowly climb the hill to power and the ultra-powerful members whose names we all recognize.

Well, that isn’t entirely true. The current first place position holder in Division 2 is none other than Slayer B.A.S., most likely one of the most feared contestants on the field by vampires across the globe. Division 2 has a bit more flexibility to it than Division 3, as it goes for a larger field of competitors (levels 41-200). With 80 contestants currently fighting on Patrols, Battles, Fight Clubs, Missions, and bathroom stalls, the wins are adding up. Observers can clearly see that contestants in Division 2 are more willing to throw down than those in Division 3 based on the numbers of fights fought and number of participants.

Division 1 is a madhouse of Brawls, Duels, and KOTM challenges. When the order was given to fight, these heroes didn’t even make it out of the stands before they threw their punches at one another. I lost track of how many fights I’ve seen credited to this division. The gloves are on here and punches aren’t being pulled. In fact, many of these contestants have been seen visiting locations where lower rated heroes gather and simply wiping the floor with them. A win is a win after all, even if it is against a moose-eating tree in a New Amsterdam park.

77 Olympiad contestants currently battle in Division 1. An interesting observation I have heard about the heroes who seek out their fights while on Patrol is that they are constantly stopping and picking up gloves, bowling balls, instant ramen, and multi-vitamins while they defeat villains. Clearly, they are taking advantage of the opportunity to stock up on supplies for the events being held over the next few days.

While the top three in each division will be rewarded with accolades and rewards of Gold, Silver, and Bronze, there is also a strong incentive to place in the top 50 for each division. BADGE is granting special Morphon rewards based on ranking in these events. A hero that places in the top 10 over each of the five days of competition could easily have the opportunity to participate in the ultra-desirable Nova Mystery Shuffle and collect new bits of gear and other rewards to benefit their efforts.

Each night I will report on the top three participants in each division of these Olympiad events. And participants are also welcome to contact me directly for comments on their participation on the events taking place. The Sentinel is home to all your voices, not just mine. I am happy to hold the mike for you to speak to our readers.

Good luck, heroes. I can’t wait to see who our medalists will be. (Betting windows are open.) In the end, it is going to come down to who is the most dedicated and disciplined in their drive to claim the prize. It could be anyone's game.
