New Collaborative Fiction Story Begins: Monsters of Rural Colorado

By Chaz Hamilton

"Keri (Astra) came back home after a tough night of fighting crime in New Amsterdam. She teleported to her apartment where she kept her items that reminded her of her old life and home. She missed being Kevin, but her parents declared Kevin dead. Doug still hasn't been seen since the night they were abducted, and Kevin was experimented on to make him now a her and given powers.

Who knows how many others were abducted and experimented on? The local news had been reporting on strange creatures attacking cattle and scaring children. The Skunk Woman of Lochbuie, the Snake Man of Bennet. There were half a dozen more all chalked up to Urban Legends of the Rural towns. Most people in the city of Denver just thought of the stories as superstitious hick stories. Keri knew there was probably more to it. Maybe Morphon Particles or even other abductees.

She decided it might be a good idea to bring in others to help investigate."

Earlier this month, I spoke of the beginning of a Halloween-themed collaborative fiction forum thread, Space Ghost. There have been some haunting stories shared there already.

Another author has begun a different story, Monsters of Rural Colorado, and is seeking others to participate in its telling. Above is the invitation for other interested parties to join in the story.

If interested in aiding Astra in her hunt, go to the story Monsters of Rural Colorado and reply in the thread. If you click on the initial authors image or name on the left hand side of the screen, you will find an e-mail message link for further communications or you may use the ID number 22632 to contact Astra in-game.

Any fiction forum post of more than a paragraph is eligible to receive two Reality Writer cards worth 10 Morphons. Every month, there is a often a bonus given to the members one of the collaborative stories.

While not lore for the Heroes Rising game, these stories are often amusing, entertaining, and creative. Definitely worth checking out if you have the time.

If you feel inspired, please help Astra locate her friend Doug.

Heroes, you have your call to action. Will you assist?
