Darkstar was rubbing his bruised chin. “We had two great rounds, but I was hoping that dropping to Division 3 would mean easier opponents.”
Ace nodded, but then answered, “It would have been nice, but there are strong teams across the board, especially since the rules change forced so much reshuffling.”
The leader of the Avengers/51 team they were facing signaled to Krystal from the sidelines.
“Your team, as usual, put on a fairly impressive show this war...”, said Rakly. “... if there are members who still need to qualify for the participation prize, I’m sure we could arrange something... a ‘handicap’ match or two, as it were.”
“Let me ask around to make sure, but I think we’re all ok...”, said Krystal. “Given our meetings at nightclubs and such, none of us were expecting miracles, but I think we put up a good fight against strong opponents such as your team.”
“To be sure, you guys have always been willing to take the good with the bitter... that’s the main reason I wanted to ask.”, said Rakly.
“If anyone still needs those ‘handicap’ matches, I’ll let you know.”, said Krystal.
