Get Paid for your Raid

The cat is out of the bag. Meow.

There will soon be a new Heroes Rising Raid event, likely signaled by events shared in one of Dan Peyton’s lore chapters in the Chase the Mythic storyline. What a way to draw the year to a close!

With League War events, there is a fair amount of support out there for your fighting efforts. With a RAID event, the combat is a bit different. Will the gear set-up you have be the best for combating the upcoming villain? More than likely not.

Raid battles have been about damage output. The more damage you inflict, the more potential rewards you can earn. Is there a way to maximize the potential awards for your character at the end of the raid?

Of course there are!

First, there will be a core element that the villain will be vulnerable to. Either Magic, Supernatural, Physical, Technology, Mental, or Elemental. Typically, there are four other types that the villain with have strong resistances against. This is the time to choose wisely. Vulnerability will enhance your damage in combat. Strong resistances will diminish your efforts.

The core is important, but so are the other pieces of gear you have equipped. Cores also grant additional bonus damage based on the other gear choices you use. For example, the Dinosaur DNA Physical core grants +5 additional damage for each piece of gear you have with the same element. The more Physical items you have equipped, the more damage you can inflict.

Your attack value is going to be important, but defense and movement play negligible parts in a raid at this point. Switch around your gear to give you the best bonus damage to your attacks for the raid. That might mean equipping the majority of items of a certain game element. It could also mean streamlining your damage output for 1.5X, 1.8X, 2X, or 3X modifiers. Play with your build and find out what you have that can get you a few extra bits of damage per attack.

At the bottom of your GEAR EQUIP tab, you can find a table of your current gear set-up, including the extra amount of damage you do per element and your damage multiplier totals. This table can help you to understand how your current gear equipped will work against a foe. For instance, in terms of Damage Multipliers, it will show your % chance of triggering the enhanced damage when attacking. Damage Multipliers are not an absolute "they go off every time". A higher % value, the more likely you are to do extra damage.

Gear that reduces a foes strike will be of little use, as will gear that regenerates your character’s health. Swap it out for choices that will add to your maximum damage output. Use the option to save your gear loadouts to make switching back and forth easier. That way you don’t lose your advantage in the next Fight Club or Event battle you take part in.

Second, consumables are very helpful during raids. Ruby Shard #5 and Candy Corn will increase your energy recharge rate. That will effectively double the number of attacks you can engage in during a window. Ruby Shard #1 will increase your Attack by 5%. Use what you have to give you an edge.

Third, the more damage you do, the more potential rewards you might be able to earn. Pay attention to what the awards are and what their thresholds are. Each attack uses 5 energy when you attack the villain. Some thresholds are easy, such as a 1% chance of earning the prize for every 200 points of damage you inflict. There will also be a maximum amount you can earn of each reward. (ie. Limit 2).

Earn everything you can, but based on your damage, which is shown with each attack, you should be able to gauge what you can achieve and what you cannot. Low level characters will have a very big challenge reaching the highest tier prizes. Don’t burn up a bunch of energy unless you can cross a threshold that will give you a chance for a good reward.

Raids are fun, but they are a marathon, not a sprint. Doing 500 points of damage 5 times during a day won’t earn you as much as doing 200 points four times an hour for eight hours.

Damage comes off the raid target and can go very slowly or very quickly. It isn’t a constant. There will be times where it drops quickly when a few heavy hitters are engaged or slowly if all low-level heroes are challenging it. In the end, we can always hope that the heroes will come out victorious. But it isn’t guaranteed. Raids can be lost if players don’t participate.

One thing to remember about raids is that each attack you deliver costs 5 energy, which means you gain five experience toward leveling. At low levels, frequent raiding can incur a sizable amount of experience gains for your character. You could potentially level multiple times while engaging in this event. Be sure to structure your build to maximize your damage output so your level gains come with sufficient rewards to benefit your effort.

A raid isn’t a competition (well, there will be those who like to brag). It is all about you putting in maximum effort for maximum rewards. Good luck to all.
