Regifting: Should I?

The first round of the Secret Santa Gift Exchange has gone by and soon we will be engaged in the second round. I think most heroes who gave five gifts into the exchange were quite pleased with the new piece of gear they were rewarded with, The Gift Blaster. If you didn’t give five gifts, the Powers that Be, A.K.A. the game developers, surprised us and have extended the opportunity to gain one to the second round of gift exchanges.

Now the question is “Should I keep what I got or give it away and let it continue on in the Great Material Continuum?”

During the holidays, there is a version of a Secret Santa Gift Exchange known as Dirty Santa where I am from. If you don’t want to choose a new gift from the pile of donated presents, you can steal one from people who have already opened theirs.

Unfortunately, that isn’t an option for us at this time. Not that I can’t see leagues attacking leagues while they do their best to steal one another’s presents from the rubble of the demolished league headquarters. That could also be an idea for next year? Do the gift exchange, but if an opponent defeats you in combat, they can steal the gift they just received. Hmmm.

I digress.

This year we have to focus on what it is we can do. That is continuing on with the gift exchange and offering up some more gifts for our fellow players.

Some people might think that “Hey, I’ve already gotten the Gift Blaster. I can’t get another one, so why bother?”

Well, what do you have to lose by continuing the tradition? I think we will find we have more to gain by keeping the holiday spirit going than if we choose to opt out for lack of potential personal gain.

Add some more of your own gifts. Reuse gifts you received and don’t want to keep. Either way, it isn’t going to hurt to keep the goodwill of the season going.

It’s always possible that by giving during the second round of the Secret Santa Gift Exchange, you just might find yourself on somebody's NICE LIST. With a third round starting just after the second, would you be surprised if there wasn’t a twist of some type?

Better to be safe than sorry, right?
